After the emotional depths of personal exploration that I understand happened on Chromakopia, it seems Tyler has taken a well deserved break from that to create more fun and bouncy beats and write some light hearted bars to go over them. This does indeed feel like the euphoria that comes from after bearing your heart and soul to the world and you feel truly unburdened and I'm glad Tyler got to put like a project like this out. For me personally though, this isn't my favorite sounding ... read more

This is my first time listening to a Griselda project and I'm enjoying what I'm hearing in this little sampler. The production is very cinematic and intense thanks to Big Ghost's beat work. Westside Gunn, and Conway the machine both have very distinct deliveries (especially Gunn) and very enjoyable wordplay and overall aura. "Fendi Seats" and "Empire" are probably unsurprisingly my favorite songs from here but there's not a bad listen ... read more
One of the few albums I've listened to so far where on paper I felt I would really love it and just...a miss overall. Like from reading all the reviews that said it sounded like Earl, who I like what I've heard of him on features, rapping over beats that sounded like a depressed version of J Dilla (Donuts is one of my fav albums ever), I was very excited. Looking back on it after listening to it, I find it pretty unmemorable. I don't really remember how any of the songs go or any ... read more

The first thought that came to mind through about this project is "this sounds like alternate reality peak Chance the Rapper who grew up in NY instead of Chicago and grew up listening to a lot of Tribe and Roots". I have since learned he's from Maryland, but I feel my point still stands. Great flows and beautiful instrumentation. Really groovy and flowy passages with vibrant horns and funky saxes. "Run, Run, Run" is the obvious standout but ... read more
To have this talent and make this music, and to be gone from this world so young. As someone who struggles with suicidal ideations, it truly hurts to know this is the last we will ever hear from this young artist. Wherever you may be, I hope you know you left something great behind. I hope you are no longer in pain. I hope whatever drove you to that point is not with you anymore. I hope you can still see that you are not forgotten. Obviously it's not a perfect score so I have some things I ... read more

A really enjoyable break from reality powered by very solid bedroom pop with sophist pop elements. Really enjoy the first two tracks and especially the horn parts I wasn't expecting to hear but fit in very well. "Loveryboy" was a bit of an odd moment I must admit but the last two tracks got everything back on the right tracks. Maria's vocals are gentle and tranquil on the ears and act like a gentle hand guiding the listener to a warm bath. ... read more
The predecessor to M3LL155X may not reach that projects heights in a similar run time, but is nonetheless another enjoyable spark of an EP. The contrast of sweet and eerie vocals paired with glitchy and sometimes even unnerving instrumentation still works well in this project's portrayal of being in an abusive relationship and the distorted feelings that go along with that unfortunate situation.

Squeezing right in at the end of the best decade for hip hop comes an essential boom bap and conscious hip hop record. Mos Def delivers some really amazing bars about issues that still are present, if not worse, today than they were in 1999. He has a truly infectious flow that maneuvers along the beats with the precision and ease of a seasoned figure skater. Speaking of beats, those are also incredible, drawing from the best sounds of the time but also forcing their own way ... read more
Really enjoyed this. Wasn't sure what I anticipated with an indie rock and alt-country album but this was a really nice combination. Cameron Winter has some truly amazing vocals and the drumming of Max Bassin also deserves some credit. First 3 songs are really good followed by some great follow ups in "Gravity Blues" and "Mysterious Love". Fans of either indie rock or less traditional country should definitely give this a listen. Sounds like ordering a Matcha Latte at a ... read more
A talented singer, not revolutionary by any means but good overall, let down by lackluster lyrics and bland production. Doesn't really provide much of an identity to Renee other than clearly an entry in the Olivia Rodrigo offshoots. That being said, I don't think Olivia would ever write "you could poison poison". If Renee wants to carve a place for herself in the pop landscape, she will have to try something else in my opinion. Snow Angel is a good song but everything else ... read more
This is definitely an intimidating listen. With 30 songs and over an hour and a half of music, some much more experimental and odd than the rest, this stands as an absolute titan amongst the rest of the Beatles discography. With that many tracks, it is inevitable for a question to arrive; do all the songs on here deserve to be here? To me the answer is no. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of legendary songs on here that are held in high regard for good reason and other lesser known ... read more
The theoretically odd pairing of the ever smooth and relaxed Alchemist and the gangster deity Freddie Gibbs return with a sequel to their great first collaboration and are serving up some noodles this time (it took me way too long to realize Alfredo was Al for Alchemist and Fredo for Gibbs). Everything that made the first project enjoyable is back and even stronger this time with the exception of maybe the features, which makes a bit of sense since this track list twice as long. Even with the ... read more
Some songs get better after they aren't on the radio all the time. Some don't.
4/21/26 100->99. Still peak but not perfect. "Good Morning Good Morning" is the primary offender.
Yeah this and Revolver will be my peak Beatles until further notice. Both those are pretty close in terms of 1 and 2 and I'm sure the answer would change depending on when you asked me. LSD Beatles supremacy.
Yeah I like this better than Abbey Road. I feel like I should dislike "Yellow Submarine" more than I do but I can't make myself do it. Definitely a contender for best Beatles' record for me. LSD Beatles seem to be their most enjoyable for me so far. Much more of a fan of the more Psychedelic and experimental sounds here.
Side B ("Here Comes the Sun" onward) is flawless. Side A, however, has two big stumbling blocks for me "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" and "Octopus's Garden". With those two in here, I can't give a perfect score in good conscious. An amazing record, but not perfect. Will have to see if I like any other Beatles' records more than this.

Hi Marvin Gaye, greetings from 2025. Thank you for this album and the hope for a better future. Things are kinda worse now than ever to be frank. Really messed this one up. Thanks for the album though
Listening to this at work straight up Bjorking it. Gotta meet with HR later, they must want to goon together.
No, Godspeed YOU! Black Emperor
