Honestly don't know between the first and this one which I like more. Truly Yours 1 and 2 just being extras from Born Sinner, does it really just show how talented Cole is. I really enjoyed Cole's honesty which he often shows off, but I think Cole showed it better than any other of his projects like on Cole Summer "Throwing thousands in the strip club with Drizzy. Difference is I'm throwing four, he throwin' 50". Overall did I really like this ep, but I still ... read more
I am really starting to fuck with Drain Gang, and this may the most fun album from them I have heard. Honestly the song written isn't crazy, but I really love the production, which really shine from Whitearmor and Mechatok. the album is sadly only 22 minutes, which is a bit to short to get love the album, but still from the 22 minutes they squeezed in a lot a good music pretty well. Overall is it not really the best I have heard from Drain Gang, but it was still pretty good. Some of my ... read more
I wish more people knew about the Truly Yours eps, they are seriously underrated. Truly Yours feels a lot like a tribute for the Generation which raised J. Cole, just by listening and hearing the Lauryn Hill sample and the tribute song Tears for ODB, which of course is about Ol' Dirty Bastard. Overall did I really like this ep and I honestly think a lot of these songs where better than some of the that ended up on Born Sinner. My highlight would have been Can I Holla At Ya and Tears for ... read more
Drake really listened to one Skrillex song and now think he can make house. Honestly, I this pretty sad, how lackluster this is, even for Drake's standards which already isn't the highest. I feel like Honestly, Nevermind had potential to be something, but I don't think Drake really tried. Honestly, Nevermind had some redeemable qualities and a handful of songs that I liked, but overall a messy listen with more low points that highlights. Some of my highlights was Jimmy Cooks, ... read more
Honestly pretty disappointing that after three whole years, couldn't make a interesting album. Most of it felled very rushed and demo-ish. Another big problem for me was that Joji really didn't feel very excited in his tone and I had a hard time loving it because of that. I felt the features worked, but were kinda forgettable. Overall did I see some good moments, but sadly also a lot of low point. Some of my highlight could be PIXELATED KISSES, Sojourn and Rose Colored.
I'm kinda sad that this is Cole's last album, but at least it ended on a high note. Honestly did The Fall Off live up to most of expectations I had, if anything it when over them. Being a hour and forty minutes I was also surprised that I didn't lose focus from the music and even notice a lot of small details in the production. I felt the features worked well and really didn't try to steal the tracks, I especially liked Tems and Future's concubines. Overall did I ... read more
D-Day as a concept is pretty cool, but I don't think lived up it. The mixtape starts off great with the intro track Stick, which gave me high hopes for the rest of the album, which I should have gotten. Most of the rest of mixtape just feels like filler, with random ass features. I think my biggest problem with this mixtape isn't the mixtape self, but more that I don't care for a lot of Dreamville, like have you ever meet a Lute or bas fan ever. Overall didn't I hate the ... read more
Honestly this shit goes kinda hard. Yumi being a youtuber, surprised me that this album actually sound good if even great. Yumi can definitely be heard borrowing ideas from other bigger artist like Ski Mask and X, which isn't a bad thing. I really loved how Yumi actually tried making good music, compared to other youtubers like Jake Paul or Ksi. Overall did I surprisely like it a lot, while having it flaws. Some of my highlight was POISON, RUN and DANCE.
Pink has been crazy coincident from the start, and this is a great show of that. to hell with it feels like the perfect mix between Bedroom Pop and Drum and Bass, which I find very interesting since really no one else has done it in the mainstream. I also really like how PinkPantheress gets a lot of influences from late 90s and 2000s dance music which really gives PinkPantheress that bounce in her production, which I really like. Overall did I really like this, but my main issue is that the ... read more
This was definitely a interesting listen. Död Mark being one of Yung Lean's many side projects, do I find this some of his more interesting stuff. On Drabbad av sjukdom Yung Lean, which translated to English means "Stricken by illness", do you find Lean stepping away from from hip hop and closer around some of the post punk sounds which all sound very interesting. From the stuff I understood while listening could I catch how he talks about all the stuff going to his head at ... read more
In no other time than 2016 could this haven't worked. Warlord is one of Yung Lean's more interesting albums, both production wise, but also the insane amount of drugs he was on while working on this album which you definitely could hear, not to forget that he only made two other album in the same year. You can also hear the environment the album was created around, like how you can hear elements for Future, Yeezus, Chief Keef and $uicideboys, which all were big parts of Yung ... read more
My goat is finally back, and has a album coming, I use to pray for times like this. I Did This To Myself sound a lot more funky that some of his lates music from It Is What It Is, but in a great. Yatchy also haaes great feature. I'm so hyped for this new album, it could very well be the album of the year.
I have liked Don Toliver's music for while, but this gotta be some of his best work. OCTANE has a lot of element I really liked, which brings me to my first point. The production is top tier, even for Don Toliver's standards, and often outshines Don Toliver himself. Another thing I like about the album is the features, which often on the play as a support role rather than actual features. My biggest dislike about the album is actually Don Toliver himself, like I found both his vocals ... read more
The hate of Fakemink is so forced, like how can't you enjoy this shit. On The Boy who cried Terrified does Fakemink show a kinda new style compared to his old style London's Saviour, which was more inspired by the early 2010s hip hop. Fakemink's new music focuses a lot more on rage, than the cloud rap Fakemink is know for, which I don't know if I like more. One of my highlight point from the ep could be the great production from Burial, Wraith9 (The guy who produced all of ... read more
I'm so happy that J. Cole still at his 41 years of age can rap on a level like this. BIRTHDAY BLIZZARD '26 kinda feels like some freestyle Cole made in the studio while he was working on The Fall Off, which isn't a problem at all. I love how Cole also shows love the generation before him, with using some iconic beat from Biggie, The Lox, etc. Overall did I really like the four freestyle Cole has given us, and this just has made me more excited for The Fall Off.
Happy 41th ... read more
I really don't see the appeal about IDK, I find him extremely average and kinda boring. My biggest problem about IDK is that his rapping style is pretty generic, and in many instance he sounds completely like other rappers, especially Chance The Rapper. The biggest thing that made up for IDK could be the producers and features, especially Black Thought and Joey Valence & Brae, which both fully carried the songs they were featured on. Overall didn't I find the album that bad, but I ... read more
Salem is one of this most impactful music groups in last 20 years, and kinda understand why. Salem was one of the pioneers of Witch House, which has influnced artist like Haunted Mount, Billie Eilish, Drain Gang, and Charli xcx. Salem's 2020 album "Fires in Heaven" is mostly Witch House, but it also got elements of Cloud Rap and at time kinda sound like Suicideboys. Overall did I really like this album and I find most of song great even. Some of my highlights could be Starfall, ... read more
This album sound so ahead of it's time, even for todays standards. The album feels like the the blueprint for samples and the fact that she was only 27 when she made this self produced masterpiece. Imogen Heap vocals feels beautiful, even with the overloaded robotic audio effects. Every song sound beautiful and though the listen I just recognize all the song sampled from her, like Angel and Bass by A$AP Rocky, Whatcha Say by Jason Derulo, Kill Everything by Fakemink and not to mention all ... read more
