I think Cowards is a good album just as much as the other Squid albums, but I can't help but feel something is missing. These songs are missing the same impact that Squid could deliver previously and It's unfortunate cause there is great execution that I yearn for that is ABSOLUTELY here.... but it's not.
Best tracks: Showtime!, Crispy Skin
This album is just fucking crazy to me. Each track manages to subvert all of my expectations and take dance music to a place I'm not ready to experience. FKA twigs reminds me of how M.I.A first couple albums contained songs that took huge risks on the experimental side, yet they felt rewarding to listen to due to how much of a damn bop they were. Almost every track on EUSEXUA is incredibly strange, but man it is rewarding to listen to.
Also, crazy as fuck to feature North West on this ... read more
I never thought that I would be listening to Dungeon Synth in my entire life, and yet here I am wanting more of it.
Best tracks: DREAMS, IVE NOT SEEN SUCH BRAVERY, BLACK NIGHT, Elder's Groff
I really don't have much to say besides it being a cute little indie rock album from a band I see on my recommended all the time.
The album structurally strikes me as if I were listening to Duster. The music doesn't really flow together, but these tracks work really well when listening to them by their lonesome. Each song has it's own little bit of independence and their personality is something I can't deny.

One of the most melancholic and disturbing listens I've ever heard the pleasure to listen to. This album feels like I'm venturing inside the mind of a clinically depressed and paranoid schizophrenic. Every song has this grainy edge to it that makes it feel like a broken record constantly skipping lines and cutting the vinyl until it's shredded into cheese. It's akin to the production of JPEGmafia with it's bizarre and unique samples that feel like they shouldn't go ... read more
COLOR INSIDE THE LINES >:((((((((
Faced Out is a very conflicting album to say the least. I really like what the album is going for instrumentally, but the album completely falls apart when the vocals are taking the stage. Something about the lead singers vocals are distinctly off to me and I can't figure out why. I don't know if he's singing out of key, or if the vocals are just unmixed, or if his voice just doesn't hold the same emotional weight as his ... read more
This album hit me like it was trimethoxyphenethylamine
Mescaline, also known as mescalin or mezcalin, as well as 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenethylamine, is a naturally occurring psychedelic protoalkaloid of the substituted phenethylamine class, known for its hallucinogenic effects comparable to those of LSD and psilocybin. It binds to and activates certain serotonin receptors in the brain, producing hallucinogenic effects.
Best track: Dweller in the Abyss
I was late to work one day cause I was rushing to buy this on vinyl.
Taking the formula of classic holiday singers, Schlatt decides to fulfil a contractual obligation and spend a year working on a 20 minute Christmas album. It's a beautifully made revival album that I will be sneaking at the family Christmas event.
Best tracks: Santa Claus is Comin' to Town, Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
Hairytwinkle2929 is the reason I quit Doomspire, too many sweats smh...
I've know about Poppy's metal music for a while and I find it really interesting since it's so juxtaposed to when Poppy would make weird ass videos on YouTube. Poppy's music is something my dad showed me a couple years ago, and I guess I never really checked it out after that point.
Negative Spaces is actually pretty good. All of the songs on this album are very solid on their own especially the Nu-Metal focused ones. They have this kind of production I love to see in Metal ... read more
