When Ethel Cain did that scream on Ptolemaea, It felt like my vision sunk to the back of my head and I started heavily dissociating.
This album has one of the best contrasts in tone both in concept and in execution. Ethel Cain used soft synth pads straight out of a heavens chorus, and beautiful piano melodies to give the tracks a beautiful shiny exterior. And then shit hits the fan and you are immediately presented with dark droning synthesizers, thick buzzy bass, and guitar riffs straight out ... read more
When Danny brown endorsed femtanyl we knew this was going to happen
This album sounds like the soundtrack to an obscure NES game. Like Monster Party or some other weird game like that.
I find the backstory of this album more intriguing than the actual album itself. Mort Garson sold physical copies of this album if you were to buy a plant from Mother Earth in Los Angeles. It's a very endearing way to sell the album and I find it really sweet. Sad that this didn't take off because of that.
It's a very beautiful album and the moog sounds so much ... read more
Cool World more like Cool album GOOOOD DAAAMN.
This album is a much more solidified and polished take on their sound from last, last year's God's Country. The sound is super good and the vocals don't stick out nearly as much and the instrumentation is beautifully gritty and dissonant.
It really does feel like this band's natural progression is headed in a good direction and I can absolutely pray for greater relaeses to come.
Best tracks: Frownland, Masc, Shame
Its impossible to rate this among other pieces of art because it just isn't art. This album is an emotional outlet. A very depressing and despairing emotional outlet.
Phil Elverum wrote these songs after the tragi passing of his wife, Geneviève Castrée, where he bathes in his grief. It is absolutely devastating to listen to Elverum count the time it has been since she passed throughout the album. You can really feel how raw it is, and how he denotes himself as being ... read more

This is songs about FUCKING and its FUCKING really FUCKING good. FUCK. I love the FUCKING production of this FUCKING album. Its super FUCKING harsh and gritty, SHIT, and the FUCKING lyrics are all about FUCKING judging by the FUCKING album name. It's a bit FUCKING difficult to FUCKING understand the FUCKING lyrics over the FUCKING guitar sometimes HOLY SHIT!
A very FUCKING entertaining, yet short as FUCK album.
Also whatever the FUCK pigfuck is I FUCKING ... read more
Other than a couple songs, nothing on this album really sticks out to me.
Out of Time is a perfectly solid rock album with negligble country influences. At times the alt-country really sticks out, but it's rarely existing in its involvement. There's definently better albums by this band, so this may grow on me as I discover more about R.E.M.
Best tracks: Losing My Religion, Country Feedback
It's a very solid jump start for west in his career with this experimental instrumental rock material. A lot of this sounds like it was recorded with a satellite and it has a neat atmosphere on it. The production although is pretty lacking and makes the instrumental sound very amateurish.
It's only North from here hehehehe, and I'm excited to hear what west has got moving forward.
Best track: Dayspring
Coldplay perfectly parallel's Muse in how they made master artworks in the 2000's, but gradually fell down to mediocrity in the present day. I heavily doubt Coldplay will recover their career after Parachutes.
Best track: MOON MUSiC

Today is a crazy day for releases, Georgie Greep from the infamous band Black Midi drops an album, GodSpeed drops an album, and Aphex Twin drops a new deluxe. 4 channers rejoice.
This new solo album is a jazzier approach to the black midi style of over the top art rock madness. I really love how this album sounds in general. Jazz is not typically an album I dive deep on, so It's awesome to hear it be used as major influences ... read more
Whatever I initially thought of Selected Ambient Works II before this reissue dropped has changed completely.
This 3 hour experience is incredible throughout, and the addition of the new tracks such as Stone in Focus, th1, and the orchestral version of Rhubarb adds to it heavily. Each track brings a unique tone to ambience with it ranging in tension, texture, and density. The great tracks on this album, like #3, #13, and Stone in Focus are elevated higher due to the diversity of the album. ... read more
Holy hell this is production of the year
I've really put off listening to this album for basically no reason, but I've heard such great things about it that I needed to get to it eventually. I even saw the behind the scenes on how this album cover was created, really fucking cool!
Imaginal Disk is what I can describe as a more vintage take on Dance Pop which stems back from the 70's and 80's. I'm really not 100% sure on that description since this album is an out of ... read more
I really liked the album in the beginning, especially the first couple tracks, but the speed of the album basically stops to a complete halt by the time we get to Cinnamon Horses. It starts off really fun and completely out of ordinary with weird instrumental choices and this malleable spoken word style singing. The atmosphere is established almost immediately in Song of the Lake where it takes on this folky pop sound mixed with electronic elements... plus a fucking mellotron sound ... read more
