MouthBreather - Ethical Hunting
80

Great song, although I feel it isn’t as creative as You Try to Die and is more predictable instrumentally and vocally. Still is better than a lot of modern metalcore

Thirty Seconds to Mars - It's the End of the World But It's a Beautiful Day
5

soulless electropop that sounds like it’s stuck (HAHA GET IT) in the late 2000s/early 2010s

Resolve - Human
19

This is definitely an album. It was written by a genericore band and made to be heard by others who like generic lyrics. The high points were fine and low points weren’t good

Polaris - Fatalism
60

First time listening to a full Polaris album. I can’t say it’s bad but it loses its momentum the longer it goes on. If you like easycore then you like it. Rip Ryan Siew

Beartooth - The Better Me
10

Very corny and HARDY doesn’t bring anything interesting, or even good, out of Beartooth

While She Sleeps - SELF HELL
19

This song was so frustrating cause it sounded like they were building up to something in the first verse and then the chorus just killed it

Poppy - Motorbike
59

What schools think will happen if boys see a girl’s shoulder

Dying Fetus - Make Them Beg for Death
70

Very solid death metal. It gets the job done of making me feel like I’m in a meatgrinder.

Pain of Truth - Not Through Blood
89

Some of the best metal breakdowns for the year are on this album

Code Orange - Mirror
65

ehhhhhh… I mean, the performances are solid, but it felt somewhat empty with the electronic drums. Also the ending reminded me of Beauty School Dropout from Grease

Soul Glo - If I Speak (Shut The Fuck Up)
90

“SHUT THE FUCK UP” Soul Glo screamed calmly

Asking Alexandria - Where Do We Go From Here?
20

wowza, this was a silly listen. It sounded like Falling In Reverse at some points like on Let The Dead Take Me and Feel. The album played it safe in a lot of points. Psycho sounds like a parody of “what modern metal sounds like to people who don’t like modern metal.” The instrumentals on Kill It With Fire were somewhat interesting but the lyrics are trying too hard to be edgy. Overall this album is either fine or bad. Feeling a 3 to a 3.5 out of 10

Orbit Culture - Descent
50

This was meh, kinda just sounded like stock metal half the time.

Resolve - Older Days
5

If you hate modern metal, then this song isn’t for you. It features some really tacky rapping. Lyrics remind me of out for blood by code orange

SeeYouSpaceCowboy - Chewing The Scenery
85

The instrumentals on this track are great but what’s keeping me from saying it’s awesome are the clean chorus sections. Still love it though

Spiritbox - Jaded
60

It’s fine. A little bit better than the void. It gets the genericore job done

The Callous Daoboys - Waco Jesus
80

Amazing. MouthBreather has competition

80

Very cool genre execution. Never thought punk and industrial rock and dance punk could work so well. However, I do think they could go a little further though. Vocals are very horny but work. Feeling an 8 to an 8.5 out of 10.

Boundaries - Your Receding Warmth
85

I love this album. Great riffs, breakdowns, and lyrics. The only thing that I think this band could work on would maybe be the unclean vocals. I think they could be a little more distinct. However, that’s just a nitpick.

On Dayseeker - Creature In The Black Night
"The instrumentals accompany the lyrics more properly on dark sun than this album. Like the instrumentals in Pale Moonlight are so dumb because it has lyrics about someone (potentially Rory) 'dancing with the devil' to where it's harming them, and it sounds like a radio rock song meant to motivate people. Like shouldn't the song sound sad or at least off putting?"
On Dayseeker - Creature In The Black Night
"@PoisonBow I haven't listened to dark sun in a while, I don't like either album but I think it is better than creature in the black night because the lyrics and song meanings have a bit more effort into them. Like with Parallel about his father passing away, or with Paper Hearts about Rory sharing that he has been so overwhelmed by the weight of the world that he has a suicidal thought about dying in a car crash"

"@tn3t3ta How can you hate me so much, yet know nothing about me? I’ve given a lot of metalcore albums high ratings. I recently gave the new dying wish album, a metalcore band, a rating definitely higher than a 3/10. There’s nothing wrong with disagreeing with me, but don’t spread misinformation."

"@RemisReviews I don’t think I’ve ever said in my life that pop vocals make something bad. For the genre comment, it is my believe that these bands are more closer to pop than metal. A lot of their songs are just pop tunes featuring metal breakdowns and basic small elements of other genres."

On HomeSession3's review of Slaughter to Prevail - GRIZZLY
"a score of 50 being a "awful score" to me doesn't make any sense cause you're ignoring half of the numbers of quality you could be using to score an album (49 - 0). If you thought this album was worse than a 5/10 "middle of the road score" than you should rate it lower."
