The second half was much better. Less rap, more sing!!! I know nothing about the lore, but I didn't think that affected much. I prefer this to Clancy. I like electronic aspects in alt-rock a lot, and that's what my favorite songs here have.
Just purely from a musical standpoint, this is kinda whatever. The second song has the skeleton of a good song. Obviously Kanye is bad.
The title track is easily the best one, but Cold and You Should Probably Leave were up there too. Overall a good album, some aspects drag, mainly cause I'm not super country. But lots of good songwriting and musicianship.
Songwriting is decent but I can't get behind the style and his voice. It feels very "middle school." Some fine songs and others I'm okay with only hearing once.
It has high points and low points for sure. I don't like the rapping, I do like the rock. Same old story with me. I like some pop elements and production but some is too much.
Different but good. I like the synth rock going on, while still sounding like signature AvA with the delay. Mmmmmm delay. A couple duds but a good album nonetheless.
It's good, but those first two songs got this started pretty badly. The rest is good, a mix of classic DCFC and what they did on Kintsugi, which I love. Overall good, but I guess the weakest output I've heard from them so far.
Someone said Matt needs to sing with more emotion and I agree. I think he did that more in blink. Still a great album, simple and short but packed full of good songs. Second Alkaline Trio listen so far.
Annoying voice. Some cool beats and whatnot but not really my kind of thing. Insane lyrics but some are funny. Some of the best parts aren't him.
Saved by the back half. Still pretty great, but it's clear that this is a Transatlanticism album. Some good songs I'll keep listening to and a few that I won't.
Tyler's voice is lowkey the reason why I don't like some of this, but there's standouts. Frank Ocean and Rex Orange County features were my favorites. Pretty good album.
Need to listen to more BoH. Their folky sound isn't always my thing but I really like the vocals and overall vibe.
Probably not as good as their debut, but Swoon is still pretty solid overall. I just know I'd like it more if not for bro's voice.
Finally listened. It's pretty fire. Vocals take a second to get used to, but I can appreciate them. Very cool instrumentals and a consistently good vibe.
A little rough at points but the opener and closer seal it as a solid EP. Big congrats to Cherry Knot!
