Masterpiece, I was 13 the day this came out and I stayed up late on a school night to buy it on iTunes,
I remember the music put me in such a good mood it felt like a drug, I went to my restroom and the walk down the hallway involved me spinning, jumping and dancing
When I got back to my room, I remkeber instant crush was playing. I did not want to lay down when the chorus hit, I just stood in my room dancing. Until the sound ended
I had adrenaline pumping through me, I was genuinely full ... read more
It’s good. It just feels too much like what they’ve been sound since 2015 and I’m bored of it. To say the least.
But with them operating within the confines of that sound I have soured on, this is really good. And there’s actually a few times on here something new pokes its head up and engages me. Like with the really weird beat on napoleon, the screaming and weird vocal treatment on grey+grey, and I also love slot likes the one with bones when thought was pretty much ... read more
Pretty good
Maybe not comeback single good, but pretty good. Would make for a solid album cut but not so much as a single imo
Wow I’m genuinely shocked this had such positive reviews! I’m pleasantly surprised to see that this isn’t universally a bad song, or a misstep for her, and instead is just a don’t I really don’t like much.
I love the lyrics and the country boy quitter line, but I live in maga Texas land and am jet really sour on this sound I guess. I love how camp it is, but I just find it to be annoying to the level of being unlistenable.
I didn’t like the feel male ... read more
The last beat was awesome, yes, but that does not make this a good song
First impression blew my mind
Off third listen I think this is a beautiful piece of art from quadeca that really moved me. I think the production, song writing and passion that went into the story telling and world building is truly masterful.
The songs are kind of clicking with me one by one, but there’s still a handful of them that I respect more than I personally enjoy or want to listen to again.
It sometimes feels like the song is a little too messy for my own taste, and I have ... read more
Thank you for helping me dance this summer alone in my car, Tyler
This album is great for what it is.
One of my only zeros
There’s nothing about this I like
It actually made me feel kind of angry
Travis has gotta do something different man this is so bland. His sound is beyond stale, even the really good stuff here is just standard Travis, the rest of it is just generic garbage
This is one of the most generic and soulless albums I’ve ever heard. Travis is very talented so even when he’s on autopilot he can make 5/10 records, but is this what ANY of us want from the guy who brought us rodeo and astroworld?
The last time I was very optimistic about his future and his ... read more
Other than a few tracks that are very clearly a huge drop off in quality (Rock n roll, for example) this is a masterpiece and imo is his best record next to Daytona.
I was so hyped for this and I’m so let down. No I haven’t heard every song in full but I listened to every song on the ones I didn’t like I skipped at the halfway mark… which was most of them.
There was some decent to good moments here but most of this is filler boring autopilot garbage
If you’re a big JB fan and you line his precious mid albums you may like this. I just thought this was about to be his artistic pivot and it was not.
97->100
The songs I didn’t think were perfect when it first dropped have grown on me, every song here is unique and brings something magical to this perfect, masterpiece of an album. The Pharrell hooks have grown on me and are now some of my favorite parts of the album. The production, the ferocity and urgency of their voices, the lyrics, the cohesive “this is culturally innapropriate” tagline that ties everything together… it’s perfect.
This is my second ten ... read more
My own summer, mascara, and be quiet and drive are some of the best (and most emotionally intense) nu-metal songs I’ve ever heard, but the rest off his album just kind of bored me, I felt very emotionally detached listening to songs like rickets and I really did not like anything about headup… felt like I was listening to a Koran song with all of the weird vocals (but the drumming on this one was really cool on the second half when it slowed down)
Which leads me to think that I ... read more
