Really not as bad as everyone says
Just feels like a standard hip hop album with simple hooks and nothing really special
Even when these guys were coasting on autopilot they released music better than 70% of drakes output since 2020
It gives me the same deep magical feeling kingdom hearts does, and that’s the highest compliment I could ever give something
One of the best debuts of all time, showcasing her angelic high pitched voice and warped pop songwriting… she was a rice to be reckoned with in the industry from her first song.
This album started off extremely strong with two of my favorite songs of hers yet, but I found myself being annoyed as it went on with the production and the style of songs that just feel kind of bland and overly serious. It’s not a bad album and I really liked songs like oh England my lionheart, symphony in blue, Peter Pan and a few others…
But by homegrown that circus ass music was driving me crazy I had to force myself to finish it. This was a huge step down from her debut but ... read more
UPDATE: guys this album is insane. I think it’s my fourth 10 of the 2020’s, I fucking love it, it goes me so much life and excitement, I haven’t felt this spiritually moved by a piece of art in a very long time . This, is. Perfect.
It feels like more than music to me, it just so minimalistic and … perfect
Okay hers the review I wrote when I first heard it:
She really topprd melodrama with this for me. If it wasn’t for clear blue and GRWM being a little less ... read more
Preacher man- 58 (would be a 72 without AI, I love this beat and chorus)
Beauty and the beast- 80 (favorite solo ye song since Donda. I think this is the best use of AI by any artist thus far, I genuinely love this song and will defend it. It gives me chills and is on repeat)
Damn - 70 (a genuinely moving stripped back mantra without any obvious AI. It made me cry on first listening)
I interpret damn as singing to his fans and acknowledging how we feel… “magic hour glass, at ... read more
It’s a really good Kevin abstract album with a lot of features I really like.
Songwriting is great, vibe is great, feature verses and choruses are great, and the strongest part of the album for me is when Kevin pops in for a verse or a hook.
But see that’s just the thing, this album is good with great aspects… but before Brockhampton’s split everything Kevin was ever involved with musically was much better than good,
It was exceptional, and every project had moments ... read more
Tbh Kanye’s inclusions here are pretty great. Probably his best verse in years, and every beat is surprisingly good to great.
I won’t ever listen to this again outside of my one stream on a pirated copy for obvious moral reasons (it’s disgusting putting north on a diddy album. I think this is much worse than any of the Hitler stuff, it’s gotta be a type of actual child abuse…)
Whatever, back to the music. The combs guy just sounds dead and boring. Lyrically ... read more
Can’t stand his voice
These songs are too long
It feels so pretentious, like he said “let me make a piece of art instead of my regular shitty musicπ” but it still feels like his regular shitty music
But it’s obviously more listenable than anything else he’s ever done, I think there are songs on here I don’t rush to turn off if it came on, and I respect the effort in trying to make a listening experience of an album instead of just tik tok singles.
I might have been the biggest BH fan from 2017 to like 2020. I was on their first tour, saw them 4 times.
And this is my favorite album and favorite era of theirs, I knew it the day it came out. It was heavily inspired by Kid A, which at that time I had never heard
So when Kevin told the story of Kid A on the press run; I listened to it the same day.
So this album and Radiohead will always be linked in my head, I just have a strong emotion when thinking of both of those albums.
It’s ... read more
This was awesome. Felt like driving to the city really late with friends to go to a club. I loved everything about this
not for me BUT I see something here that I know other people will love
It still makes me cringe but I do see this as art, when his other stuff was slop.
Still better than anything Kanye, the greatest artist of my lifetime, has released this year so hey that’s impressive
It’s really good, but it feels like a lesser version of their last LP for me and I can’t shake it. The heavy metal songs aren’t really here in the same way.
The songs just feel like alternative rock songs with really long synth intros snd outros, it’s pretty odd. The songs aren’t as epic or explosive as glow on and they just tend to fall into this grey area for me that causes most of them to blend together unless it’s saved by a catchy hook or an insane ... read more
