Mach-Hommy - The G.A.T... (The Gospel According To...)
97

Why is this not on streaming man. Such a phenomenal project. Local files is the way to go I guess

Fav tracks: All of them

Rome Streetz - Noise Kandy 5
84

A great display of lyricism as always with Rome

Fav tracks: Hell backwards, Clutchin, Stunna, Fastactionvenom, Heart break hotel, Procall

DJ Muggs & Rome Streetz - Death & The Magician
79

Not the biggest fan of Muggs' production style but he works fairly well with Rome here

Fav tracks: The manuscript, Zig zag zig, Horn and halo, Fuck you know about me

Rome Streetz & Daringer - Hatton Garden Holdup
83

Pretty great Rome release, though some of Daringer's production drags a bit

Fav tracks: Starbvxkz, Sage, Cadillac smoke, Weight of the world, Heavy traffic

Rome Streetz - Trainspotting
88

God this man just flows effortlessly. Gotta love the Conductor prod too

Fav tracks: Andre agassi, Runny nose, Ricky bobby, Blood in his boogers, Rule 4080, Died 1000 times, Heartbreaker, Connies revenge, Electric slide, Resource room

E L U C I D - I Told Bessie
84

Some great standouts but a tad bit messy at times.

Fav tracks: Spelling, Old magic, Sardonyx, Impasse, Mangosteen, Betamax

E L U C I D - REVELATOR
80

A great solo release from Elucid. Up there with some of the Armand Hammer stuff in quality

Fav tracks: The world is dog, Instant transfer, Ikebana, In the shadow of if, Voice 2 skull

Boldy James - Hook, Line & Sinker
82

Not Boldy's most outstanding project but once again he shows his consistency.

Fav tracks: Pint of purple, Champagne rolls, The dealers cut

E L U C I D - I Guess U Had To Be There
85

First time listening to a solo Elucid project despite listening to most of Armand Hammers stuff and I came out of this enjoying most of what it had to offer.

Fav tracks: Cantata, Make me wise, Equiano, Fainting goats, Alive herbals, Hands n feet

Cities Aviv - EVEN COLDER SPRING
78

A return to form for Aviv as far as album releases go. Not that his past two were bad but just not on the quality of stuff like Secret waters. This isn't quite there either but it's a much better step back to that quality.

Fav tracks: Elan vital, Blkcardprince, Tribeca, Closing door, Even colder spring pt 1

Rome Streetz - KISS THE RING
93

Griselda releases seldom miss. Rome's flows are crazy here

Fav tracks: In too deep, Ugly balenciagas, Long story short, Fashion rebel, Big steppa, Soulja boy, Destiny child, Blow 4 blow, 1k ecstasy, Armed and dangerous, Cry champagne, Non factor, Serving, Reversible

Lord Finesse - The Awakening
82

A bit too many interludes but the actual tracks are fantastic

Fav tracks: True and livin, Gameplan, Speak ya peace, Food for thought, Hip 2 da game, No gimmicks,

AZ - Doe or Die
77

Another solid 90's boom bap release. Its no Illmatic sure but a good listen nontheless

Fav tracks: Gimme yours, Ho happy jackie, Rather unique

Roc Marciano - 656
79

Relisten: 59 > 79

Some of the production here grew on me upon relistens. Lacking a bit in standout tracks but its atleast fairly consistently good, though I wanted this to be better than it was.

Fav tracks Rain dance, Tracey morgan vomit, Good for you, Melo

Roc Marciano - Marciology
72

A pretty good release following a dissapointing Alc collab tape

Fav tracks: Goyard god, Tapeworm, On the run

Roc Marciano & The Alchemist - The Elephant Man's Bones
56

Alc kind of misses here with the production to my surprise. Some of these sound like throwaways

Fav tracks: Zig zag zig

Roc Marciano - Mt. Marci
57

Underwhelming as far as prod goes

Fav tracks: Downtown 81

Roc Marciano - Marcielago
64

A bit boring at points

Fav tracks: Molly ringwald, Tom chambers

Roc Marciano - Behold a Dark Horse
80

A great release in Marci's discog

Fav tracks: The horses mouth, Amethyst, Fabio, Consigliere

Roc Marciano - Reloaded
86

Basically the start of drumless hip hop. While I can't say the production is the among the best Ive heard, Roc's rapping makes up for it in this case

Fav tracks: Tek to a mack, Not told, 76, The man, Sweet nothings, Thread count, Two zips, 20 guns, Emeralds

"Same here. Jev really needs more love, his music is great."
On Wither's review of J. Cole - The Fall-Off
"@PostWither I guess I can see how it may come off as lazy. I personally find it fine though given art inherently comes from places of personal experience and perspective anyway, but i understand how it may appear to be dull, especially in the case of Cole who, frankly, has a rather uninteresting writing style at times."
On Wither's review of J. Cole - The Fall-Off
"I'm genuinely curious as to why you think he's rapping about nothing here. I do find Cole's writing to be rather on the nose quite often, but I feel like he took a more mature approach on this album comparatively to much of his prior work. Also, why the negative perspective on him rapping about his own experiences? That's a common feature of a majority of so-called conscious hip hop, not like its something new, unless that in it of itself is the reason you dislike it. Great review nontheless though, even if I personally disagree."

On Phoenix_wrong's review of Ice Cube - Man Up
"@Ableist_abby honestly that explains my thoughts perfectly. West Coast hip hop artists, atleast the mainstream ones, were never able to really evolve their sound and it just leads to all their projects sounding so dull compared to other regions. Especially so considering how washed lyrically a lot of them are now, like with Cube here. Luckily there's some amazing underground or underapreciated west coast artists that still keep that side of the genre alive, atleast aside from some of the more modern big names like Kendrick or Tyler. In their cases though they've obviously completely evolved passed the typical west Coast sound."

"Cuz the west coast legends were never that good to begin with in all honesty"

"@oSiley Lowkey I don't understand either. I moreso associate drum-less with this kind of mellow production style now more than I do it actually being drumless since the genre basically always has drums."
