Curren$y - 7/30
71

Fun project. Nice and smooth like you expect from a currensy drop

Fav tracks: Tug of war, When kush clouds rain, Botched robberies

Curren$y - Everywhere You Look
63

Short and sweet little project. Doesn't do anything groundbreaking but its easily digestible.

Fav tracks: Chains on top of chains

Curren$y - Never Catch Us
58

Not the most interesting project Ive heard of Curren$y's. Pretty inoffensive

Fav tracks: Checkpoints

Killer Mike - Songs For Sinners and Saints
60

Feels mostly just like a Michael deluxe

Fav tracks: Nobody knows

Boldy James - Alphabet Highway

Underwhelming

Fav tracks: None

Boldy James & Antt Beatz - Hommage

Boldy on trap just does not work well

Boldy James - Murder During Drug Traffic
51

Boldy's first mid project. RichGains' prod is just not it on this. Also who wtf are some of these features. They actively make this album worse

Fav tracks: Janky

Boldy James - The Bricktionary
74

Not normally the biggest fan of Harry fraud prod but he doesn't do too bad here. Not super impressive but there's stuff worth coming back to here

Fav tracks: Rabies, Cecil fielder, Shadowboxing

Boldy James & RichGains - Indiana Jones
66

Decent project that doesn't really do anything interesting. Not worth listening to as far as Boldy's discog goes

Fav tracks: Saints and sinners, Tell it all, Sos

MIKE - POMPEII // UTILITY
59

It's rare that I see an album in which all 3 artists seem to phone in their performances, but somehow thats exactly how this album feels. I had extremely high hopes for this with how much I've enjoyed much of both Earl and Mike's past releases, even looking back just last year to Live Laugh Love, but those exepctations were not even close to being met. I was a bit skeptical with whether or not I was going to enjoy this based off the singles and, unfortunately, this is exactly as ... read more

Stevie Wonder - Hotter Than July
62

Unfortunately had big shoes to fill coming off a fantastic 4 album run, and it just doesn't quite live up to that level. Decent record, but not amazing.

Fav tracks: As if you read my mind

Stevie Wonder - Fulfillingness' First Finale
84

Honestly an underappreciated Stevie record. One of my favorites behind Innervisions

Fav tracks: Creepin, You havent done nothin, It aint no use, Bird of beauty,

Stevie Wonder - Talking Book
84

A great soul album that laid the groundworks of what was to come.

Fav tracks: Maybe your baby, Tuesday heartbreak, Youve got it bad, Superstition

Stevie Wonder - Music of My Mind
73

The start of Stevie's golden era. Far from my favorite Stevie album but there's undeniable great tracks here

Fav tracks: Superwoman, Keep on running

Che - Sayso Says

God I cannot stand to listen to another rage album. I hate this genre, I hate every album in this genre, I hate every rage artist, I hate that these guys have a following, I hate that they're influencing modern hip hop as much as they are, I hate everything about it. If I have to put myself through the torture of listening to another rage project, I am actually going to give myself a lobotomy

Fav tracks: Why tf would anyone have a favorite track

Destroy Lonely - LOVE LASTS FOREVER
5

i want to kms after sitting through this

Fav tracks: None

Destroy Lonely - If Looks Could Kill
3

Unfortunately, DL is nothing but a worse version of Carti, who already is a pretty bad artist anyway

Fav tracks: None

Lil Wayne - Rebirth
14

It takes a certain level of talent to reach this level of shit

Fav tracks: None

Future - MIXTAPE PLUTO
26

Somehow one of Future's worst, and I already had a low opinion of him anyway

Fav tracks: None

On Wither's review of J. Cole - The Fall-Off
"@PostWither I guess I can see how it may come off as lazy. I personally find it fine though given art inherently comes from places of personal experience and perspective anyway, but i understand how it may appear to be dull, especially in the case of Cole who, frankly, has a rather uninteresting writing style at times."
On Wither's review of J. Cole - The Fall-Off
"I'm genuinely curious as to why you think he's rapping about nothing here. I do find Cole's writing to be rather on the nose quite often, but I feel like he took a more mature approach on this album comparatively to much of his prior work. Also, why the negative perspective on him rapping about his own experiences? That's a common feature of a majority of so-called conscious hip hop, not like its something new, unless that in it of itself is the reason you dislike it. Great review nontheless though, even if I personally disagree."

On Phoenix_wrong's review of Ice Cube - Man Up
"@Ableist_abby honestly that explains my thoughts perfectly. West Coast hip hop artists, atleast the mainstream ones, were never able to really evolve their sound and it just leads to all their projects sounding so dull compared to other regions. Especially so considering how washed lyrically a lot of them are now, like with Cube here. Luckily there's some amazing underground or underapreciated west coast artists that still keep that side of the genre alive, atleast aside from some of the more modern big names like Kendrick or Tyler. In their cases though they've obviously completely evolved passed the typical west Coast sound."
