Absolutely up there with Gris and Silksong as one of the best and most emotionally effective game soundtracks of all time. I will admit I have not played all of the game, but its remarkably impressive how the soundtrack is still sensational when listening out of context of playing.
Maybe one of my favourite tracks of the year WOW. The manic drums at the end gave me chills. Insane.
Although under 30 minutes long, this noise-y ambient album packs a lot of emotion into its runtime. However, the emotions it portrays aren't ones of happiness, or even sadness, like other emotional records, but a sense of dread and uncomfortableness, especially and expertly done through the brilliant 10 minute exodus of a track, 'The Invader'. Through its dissonant soundscapes, unusual effects and distorted vocal clips, Dmytro highly effectively immerses you in an atmospheric ... read more
Simple but decent is exactly what the song tries and succeeds at being.
Phenomenal mix of psych-y art rock and Indian scales and techniques. Brilliant songwriting, engaging structures and outstanding performances all round. Title track is one of the best songs of the year no doubt.
Really stunning ambient piano piece, that highly compliments the video it goes with, but not an insanely engaging piece of music on its own. Still enchanting, mysterious and very well composed, especially in its last third.
Incredibly well-executed and powerful slowcore ambience. Upcoming album is not one to miss.
Enjoyable but very repetitive instrumentals and production. Second half was much better instrumental-wise but with worse vocals, and the first half had better vocals and not as preferable production. Overall, a solid song, especially production-wise but the slightly sub-par vocals and nothing lyrics knock it down.
It would have been like an 80+ if a bit shorter and with no vocals.
Sometimes beautiful, sometimes trippy, sometimes glitchy, this bizarre, minimalist ambient experimental piano album is certainly an experience. Combining interesting sound design, stunning compositions by pianist Davide Dileo and a Soundgarden cover, this album is one-of-a-kind for sure. Does it get a tad repetitive sound-wise, yes, but I had a great time with this underrated record. If you enjoy ambient music, pianos and random sound effects, this is for you.
Literally utter peak once again. Insane track and equally insane video. Real excited for what is coming. :D
I’m sorry but how could something at THIS LEVEL not be a 10 from everyone. Outstandingly beautiful, crushing and cathartic piece of art, with one of the best closers in a long time.
THALL THALL THALL THALL
Scro absolutely COOKED with this album. Definitely the best work from him. Julia’s vocals, songwriting and lyrics are great sure, but let’s be real, this is kinda just a Scro album, and it’s much much better for it.
Holy fuck what a sensational and chillingly emotional experience this song and its performance at Eurovision were.
A charming, entertaining and beautiful album. As an outspoken lover of seventh and ninth chords, the harmonies, between vocals, guitars, bass and synths are just mesmerising on this, fulfilling everything I love about this kind of music. Wonderfully atmospheric, nostalgic and stunning and a fantastic project by a fantastic YouTuber, GeoWizard. I recommend this to anyone likes to get lost in incredibly pleasant vibes, or just anyone who wants to listen to some real good fucking music.
Amazing YouTuber and amazing musician. Check the channel AnyAustin out if you want top quality video game video essays, and check out this album if you want some quirky, fun and relatable indie pop.
Hear me out ok.
The highs of this album are genuinely great, and because of my decent-to-massive enjoyment of 6/10 songs of this album, I feel I can't not give this a relatively high score. I think y'all focus on the bad, even if there are great moments on albums like this.
Does the potential that this has, were it not occasionally ruined by trap drums and rap parts, annoy me? Yeah, obviously, but I do really love basically all the times where a guitar can be heard, and I enjoy the ... read more
It's fine.
Ryo's good, Nik's instrumental is sufficient but underwhelming for him and Charlie's unfortunately a tad out of place, but not bad.
A collab between these three should have been better though.
CHECK OUT THIS SONG PLS ITS SO FUCKIN GOOD AND MY FRIEND IS ON IT!
This song is an amazing mix of soul, jazz and kinda prog rock, with insane performances by super talented young musicians. There are some insane drums, great bass, bassoon, vocals and production too and it's such an impressive song for a bunch of 17 year olds to create on their own. Genuinely one of my favourite songs from this year.
I did not know this was dropping but after falling in love with her previous song 'Wakare no kotoba', I'm so glad I recognised Mei's name on my Spotify page. This record is just so enjoyable, delicate in its vocals, math rock-y guitar and jazz elements but so interesting rhythmically too. One concern I had going in was thinking it wouldn't be particularly varied as it continued, but afterwards, I feel that was misplaced. I'm still not sure if it actually was, or if ... read more
