while more consistently successful at what he's trying to do, cole is aiming low with project, which feels like more of a mixtape than an album and as a result, struggles to keep attention in comparison to the spottier kod.
hollow proclamations of greatness by an artist who hasn't had much to say since 2018 and hasn't said anything as well as he used to back in 2016. two years since his last project and all he has to show for it are tracks that motly sound like scraps from that last record. plus that transphobic line further proves an unfortunate place for cole right now: a once talented artist who has slowly slid behind the times as he pretends he's still in his prime.
it's called vultures because everyone working on this fucking thing is feeding on kanye's corpse. i like the 808s demo. shoutout ty dolla $ign for getting that bag. hope the nazi fucking dies.
a great lil two pack punch. trust me now is incredible, might be one of the better tracks i've heard from dwwl in its entirety. there's some serious magic in that one.
what a surprising, fantastic project. qued has blown my expectations out of the water, such a massive improvement from the previous record and an absolutely wonderful experience of a record. striking lyrics laced within gorgeous production. great features. just gorgeous. love this thing.
when queen dropped, nicki minaj was trying to do a "evil queen bad guy chun li" persona that kinda fell flat. in the aftermath of that, she spiraled in what felt like an ego fueled meltdown as she couldn't seem to keep her position as "queen of rap" in place, between the multiple 6ix9ine features, the feuds with multiple up and comers at the time, and then a desperate remix feature from any rap girlie that still respected her and a collection of pretty nothing singles mostly ... read more
This one is a difficult one. Obviously it's a leaked collection of songs, one that didn't have a definitive tracklist and was never meant for public consumption and was just a collection of songs that Mac made during his Faces sessions back in 2013-2014. Getting that bullshit out of the way, I can talk about the art.
This project is so important to me. It has some of my favorite songs from Mac, and probably my favorite sonic palette of his; similar to Faces, but pulled back to this ... read more
i feel like the best way to summarize PinkPantheress as an artist is just "very pretty music." this album oozes cute production and her angelic voice gliding over it all is an all around great time. ultimately brought down a bit by some features that were mediocre and a few tracks that don't stand out against the others.
i will never understand why people hate jack harlow pop rap. it's not that bad. it's fine.
