I feel a real big need to apologize to Steely Dan. I used to just say they were a singles band that could only do 2 good songs per album tops. Had the Steely Dan in while I was cranking this and can confirm it got everywhere. Tremendous shit.
This album is amazing, and consistently amazing, but that’s also a bit of a detractor from it as well. They have their sound down so much that every song sounds really similar, making it kind of difficult to decipher what is what. That’s only a problem to a new listener though and I’m sure as I keep on listening to their stuff I’ll get more used to it.
