Fred Durst is the greatest American Hero. Fred Durst fought in the revolutionary war. Fred Durst fought in the Civil War (on the less evil side). Fred Durst fought in both world wars, and single-handedly ended fascism forever and ever and ever. He skipped out on everything past 1954 though, so that's good probably. Fred Durst is my mom, your mom, my dad, and everyone's friend. Fred ... read more

She Fred on my Durst til my bizkit go limp. The dislike for Limp Bizkit is perfectly reasonable, but the disregard for this particular album seems a bit unfounded. I went into this expecting to be maybe a bit bored, a bit annoyed, but I left it feeling satisfied and kind of impressed. Fred Durst is not all that stellar, and he was possibly the weakest link out of everyone on the whole ... read more
Longmont Potion Castle - Vol. 4

Longmont Potion Castle is a mysterious figure. He's been active since 1987, and has cultivated a sort of cult following around his prank calls and shenanigans. I've only been aware of LPC for a few months, and I'm just now listening to this. This guy is hilarious. I love all these calls. 74 minutes of laughs, and many realistic wigwams. LPC has inspired me to start a long and fruitful prank call career; hopefully that cute waitress at Red Lobster marries me someday.

Almost all of the set up ... read more

Daniel Johnston - 1990
70
Daniel Johnston very radical and very cool dude.
This album sounds like a rotting sock-puppet theater. Sorta magical, a little creepy, but lovely all the same. A bunch of characters, decorated with their googly eyes, poof into life, do a little diddy, and they're off again. Exquisite.
Daniel Johnston very radical and very cool dude.

Chipmunks on 16 Speed - Sludgefest

๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ Oh hell yeah that's that good shit shoot me up uhhgh. ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ
This is 8 covers of popular songs in a really awesome post-everything aesthetic. It's very clearly not a serious album, but whooooo really cares 'bout that anymore. This is sorta in the same vein as Viper, mostly for vibing, not for thorough critical analysis. Out of the handful of novelty albums I've let spitroast my brain, this is one of the most pleasant. Please let this soundtrack the next hit Alvin & The Chipmunks ... read more
Kingston Wall - II

Unless you're addicted to the rym search feature like me, you likely haven't heard of Kingston Wall. These folks are a Finnish psychedelic and progressive rock band, so they caught my eager ears by the lobe. My personal favorite of their 3 excellent records is their second. Every cut in this steamy music pizza is a banger; lots of memorable and woozy riffs with quick drums behind them. The production and mixing on here is colorful and fun, the first few tracks on here sort of remind me of ... read more
Lady Bee - Strictly for That Nigga
70
This is an album that needs some full context to be fully understood. On this tape in particular, the person voicing Lady Bee is Kingpin Skinny Pimp, who is most known for working with Three 6 Mafia and his notable Memphis classic, King of da Playaz Ball. But that's not all that should be known, because Lady Bee was, and still is a real person, she just didn't make an appearance on this album. Lady Bee, who's real name is Barbara, was married to Skinny at one point, but they eventually ... read more
Dave Soldier, Komar & Melamid - The People's Choice Music
60
Twenty-one-hundred dumb shmuck albums, that's a lot. Gonna just put this review out here real quick, albums only 27 minutes long.
Pretty self explanatory album, Komar & Melamid took a poll on what people liked the most in songs and what they disliked the most, and made a song for each set of results. "The Most Wanted Song" is a pretty par for the course ballad with a forgettable guitar solo, nothing much to talk about aside from the killer ketchup bottle line.

This record captures a certain fogginess and wobbliness, and builds a catastrophic atmosphere unlike any other album I've heard. Daughter of Darkness gets uncomfortable, getting under your mental skin, pulling around on it, jostling itself neatly between your liver and large intestine, clamping it's bitter cold fingers around your proverbial stomach. Despite the vore this conjures ... read more
B.G. - Chopper City in the Ghetto

Cash Money in the late 90s was chock full of great work, but nowadays, those works get overlooked. I discovered this album on @soundworld's profile, and I've got to say that I'm not disappointed. As far as dirty south(ern)-gangsta hip-hop goes, this album does it's usual rounds, solid features from Juvenile, Hot Boys, Big Tymers, shiny bling rap production which has surprisingly aged fairly well, and our likeable main star of the show, B.G. There's moments on this album where it slips into ... read more
Viper - The Hiram Clarke Hustler

19OO whatevers, I'm revisiting a beloved old pal from an earlier special. The last Viper album I heard was 'You'll Cowards Don't Even Smoke Crack' which, on top of being a highly enjoyable project, also informally introduced me to cloud rap, a genre I had assumed was just mediocre Soundcloud artists, but as it turns out has some great acts. Despite my blind spot for cloud rap in general, I can enjoy some swampy ass hip-hop anytime.
There's a notable difference between this and You'll Cowards, ... read more
The Louvin Brothers - Satan Is Real

18OO ratings, jumping into a record about ๐™‹๐™๐˜ผ๐™„๐™Ž๐™„๐™‰๐™‚ ๐™๐™ƒ๐™€ ๐™‡๐™Š๐™๐˜ฟ, and preaching the dangers of Satanism. Though it seems alike to a parody record, with it's goofy cover and the no-subtlety religious lyrics, The Louvin Brothers are earnest, and fully believe the odd things they say. The brothers exhibit a joyous attitude here, seeming to revel and celebrate the further tainted image of Satan. It's all in good fun, but to only talk about the lyrics would be ... read more

17OO- ah, who cares. It's albums like these that make my mind wander off to wonderous and fantastical places. I think drone music occasionally gets a bad reputation from me because of records and artists who half-ass it. For drone to work, it needs to be set up properly and delicately. Not too fast, not too slow, lest you run the risk of boring your listener. Most boring drone lasts too long, and doesn't make enough of those subtle changes to really keep you interested. ๐ŸŒ™๐ŸŒž

Yoko Ono - Fly

16OO ratings, why do I even count anymore? Fly is one of the kookiest records I've ever listened to. It's a very stylistically diverse record, going from experimental rock/krautrock bangers to grandiose 15 minute experimental extravaganzas. Vocally, it's Yoko Ono, so you know what to expect. The krautrock cuts on this project have incredible riffs and basslines, and I cannot get enough of them. For the more experimental tracks, they can get quite abrasive, but stops just short of annoying, ... read more
Bob Dylan - Christmas In The Heart
50
If Geriatric Bob Dylan doesn't get you in the holiday spirit, I don't know what will.
If we're being real though, this album isn't anything to get angry over. It's occasionally fun, and sometimes it's painful, but most of the time it hovers at decent. Maybe I'll make it a yearly tradition to listen to this, but it's more likely I'm going to forget about it by February. Ok bye.
Tiny Tim - God Bless Tiny Tim
75
Done did 15OO ratings. I've known about Tiny Tim for a few years at this point. I would watch live performances of Tiptoe Thru The Tulips. His voice creeped me out back then, and the unnerving factor was only increased by the poor video quality, but I thought the song went hard, so I always held onto it in the back of my mind. Now my mind has twisted westward, and Tiny Tim is painted in big bold letters on it, so why not give it a listen? On this record, Tim covers a few popular cuts from the ... read more
Nurse with Wound - A Sucked Orange

29 absolute bangers for 14OO ratings, I dig it, I dig it. Thankee @Dabzilla for recommending me this, but it's not weird enough, sorry ๐Ÿคช I'm always in the mood for some nice Sound Collages, and this does not disappoint. When that bottle smashes, and the elevator cable snaps, I get a bit flustered. But let's not let me get too ahead of myself here, there must be more to talk about, so I'll say a few words about Rockette Morton: It's good I think. Same concept as Steve Reich's It's Gonna Rain, ... read more
The Crazy World of Arthur Brown - The Crazy World of Arthur Brown
80
For 13OO ratings, I bring you: FIRE!!! Arthur Brown doesn't waste time here, he's all about blasting your balls off with wacky psychedelic rock riffs, rhythms, and other R words. I think what Arthur accomplished on here is nothing short of spectacular. Really, nothing else from the 60s- 70s- 80s- ah, hell, anytime at all really compares to this. And on top of that, I was literally listening to Nina Simone's ๐ˆ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ ๐€ ๐’๐ฉ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐Ž๐ง ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ yesterday, without ... read more
Kool Keith - Sex Style
75
12OO ratings: Secks Edition --- As far as I'm concerned, this is the raunchiest record on the block, maybe only contested by other Kool Keith projects. I've had experience with Keith's eccentricity, having heard every album from his Dr. Octagon and Dr. Dooom persona, but I never dove deeper into the rabbit-hole than that. Well, now I have, and it's a fun time. The beats constructed here are pretty rudimentary, but that leaves some space for Keith to spit some of the most wince-worthy and ... read more
The Beatles - Rubber Soul
85
While not as psychedelic or experimental as some of their later works, Rubber Soul is one of their most advanced records lyrically, especially on tracks such as Nowhere Man or In My Life. The instrumentals are beautifully composed, and mixed to near-perfection, so you can absorb all those yummy guitar and tambourine textures. The vibes on here are so strong you can almost smell it - ah yes, the suffocating fumes of weed and Norwegian Wood, lovely. (In My Life is one of the best songs ever) ๐ŸŒฒ
