TW: Suicide, self-harm, real killing events
If 2022 and 2023 proved anything, it’s that Grimace is a cold and calculated murderer. With the combination of his shake, and his weed, you got yourself a deadly combo.
As far as the album goes though, this was my introduction to Chat Pile’s body of work along with many others, and at the time of my first listen, it wasn’t a mix of genres I was used to, as this review was supposed to be written nearly a year ago at this point, but ... read more
Has your complaint after listening to a really good album ever been that it ended? Well what if I told you I have a solution?
Ever since I first listened to this album on a plane trip I was on, it’s use of musical motifs is something I always find entrancing, and overlooked in the general discussion of this album, because it's impressive to be able to bring in familiar melodies throughout the album without it feeling like an attempt to fill in empty space, instead, what comes of it ... read more

Least horny must hear project with no critic reviews
But seriously, not even shocked with a cover like this, I'd go as far as to say it looks good (for research purposes obviously, but you get my point.) My basic understanding of Vylet Pony was that they were an edm artist that was explicitly Mlp themed, which I thought was a funny idea for a project, but knowing that seeing the primary genre tag for this album being noise rock is an interesting turn, but the more you know about Vylet ... read more
I KNOW I'm extremely late to talking about this album, however I'm giving myself the pass because my pronouns do happen to be funky/chord progressions.
In all fairness, Magdalena bay was a duo I was always loosely familiar with in my head, but never really took the time to listen to, but when I heard a snippet of the 4th single “That’s my Floor” on top of all of the high praise from other users (quite literally #1 of the year as of now), I now had a strong ... read more
This album turned me into a bisexual disney villain.
Ok im gonna need you guys to hear me out on this one, because what Greep has crafted with The New Sound is a sick character analysis of a depraved, psychotic, and dangerously horny man, it’s the most theatre kid shit he’s ever made, it’s arguably the most theatre kid shit ever, but every song is oozing with so much charisma and energy that it’s hard to not get invested in his abstract, sometimes shocking, yet always ... read more
How this isn't marked as a must-listen yet is beyond me, because this is such an incredibly intresting concept album that is so well-sequenced the whole thing sounds like one massive song.
As some people would know, clipping has been one of my favorite rap groups i've listened to so far, because they're sound has always been consistent across albums, yet still ever-changing to fit into a certain concept that the album it's on is going for, and in the case of "Splendor ... read more
Funny enough, reading V33's review on this sums up my thoughts pretty well, because the moments on here where lead vocalist Serj Tankian goes into intresting vocal effects, or cadences are very scattered throughout the album, which makes me wish they were more prevelant, because of how fun it is to listen to, but that being said, it takes away very little from one of the most consistently electrifying albums i've ever heard.
I've known about System of a Down for a while, as most people ... read more
Everyone has a nostalgia album, this is mine, and here's why.
For most of the albums people around me have played especially early in my life (mostly my parents), most, if not almost all of them may have lost that nostalgic quality to me due to me hearing them consistently throughout my life instead of only the beginning, which makes me associate said songs with a multitude of moments instead of just one, whether it be me hearing them on the radio in public, my parents playing them in the car, ... read more
I think the 2 adjectives that would best describe this album would probably be odd, and relaxing, because Quasimoto, aka Madlib has quite the unique voice he uses throughout this album, that he uses to make a truely hypnotic sound, in combination with the often sample-filled, smooth, jazzy production.
Quas (I'm gonna use his nickname for the rest of the review), will often switch between, or even harmonize the two different voices he uses on the album, one being a more cartoonish, high-pitched ... read more
Hello, before I start this review, I would like to note that the next 2 reviews I post are for school, so I will be keeping it as family-friendly as possible, thank you!
It's a question asked by many, but what hasn't been said in praise of this album? The answer is pretty simple, because it's not much, everything you hear on thi album is super maticulous, and thought-over, there is never a weak point to be seen, and it's creativity and boundary-pushing in the 2000's makes it still widely ... read more
Before listening to this my only experience listening to Blu's music was his first collab with Exile, "Below the Heavens", which I loved because of how hungry Blu sounded throughout the whole thing, and the great, punchy, yet often smooth boom bap beats from Exile, which many consider to be an underground classic of the 2000's. This album served as the duo's long-awaited return after an 8 year silence since their last collaborative effort, and they definetly didn't hold back on the ... read more
Listening to more music while doing this little review account has made me realize that horrorcore is one of my favorite genres, because of it's often crazy vocal performances, high tension, and heavy, hard-hitting, spooky production. Now seeing that this is one of horrorcore's most acclaimed albums, it's from the 90's, and RZA is a member?! Let's just say I was intrested on how this would sound in comparison of other rap albums of the time, and I was shocked to see how influencial this album ... read more
Trust me, I wanted to like this a lot more than I did, because OH MY GOD THOSE FIRST 8 SONGS ARE SO GOOD. Seriously, the creativity is off the wall within the beginning of this thing, I don't think i've heard someone flow so strange over such hard-hitting trap beats, but it always just works so well, at least for the beginning. Most of these songs are relatively short, but each one leaves a lasting impact on first listen, like the intro "Battery", where he goes hard on a freaking ... read more
I used to watch a lot of the lyrical lemonade music videos as they came out, so I thought the idea of making an album based on the curation of cole bennet was a cool idea, but in the process the results are very mixed.
I can start with the songs on here I actually enjoy, like the intro "Fly away", which works because it shows JID's funner side when paired with Ski Mask and Sheck Wes, and is one of the more stand out moments for the production. The first single "Doomsday" ... read more
Plane review 2/2! these reviews were both written while i was on a plane using pencil and paper, and obviously listening to the respective albums. Sorry it took a while to get these out, but I had a lot to say.
First thing i will say is that this is not my first time listening to a Xiu Xiu project in full (I mean I have one of their projects in my fav albums ever), but it is my first time hearing about Twin Peaks, and it's soundtrack, which is probably a result of me not being around when it ... read more

This is the 2nd Black Midi album i've decided to give a try, after absolutely loving just about everything about "Hellfire", listening to this one made me realize just how much this album did to change the band's sound to match what we know them for making today, because ... read more
Before I Talk about this album, I want to preface that this album inspired many artists and bands that came after it, and because of that influence, the surprise element of some songs is kind of taken away from me, which isn't a point against, or for the album, but it's just Something I immediately noticed when listening.
That being said, this album rocks! The structure gives a lot of room for these songs to breathe, in which my enjoyment of songs like these come down to it's progression, and ... read more
