Yes, yes, I know I’m biased - my name is what it is OKAY!
This is an album that really unlocks after 3-4 listens, and unfortunately a lot of you aren’t going to give it that kind of time. Between the ever-changing melodies and dense layers of instrumentation, it’s certainly overwhelming at first listen.
But when it really boils down to it, Phantom Island is one of Gizz’s most beautiful and ambitious records, one that captures what makes them the unabashedly unique and ... read more
For some reason I wrote off Simz after not loving her last 2 albums, but this is incredibly artful and groovy stuff.
Oh great now my drywall has even more holes punched into it
Gave this one a real chance because my good buddy was a big Bellion guy in high school and we’ve been waiting for the man to do something for years now.
Unfortunately, this reminds me a lot of Chance’s Big Day, where it’s generally very messy and features some truly weird production and songwriting decisions that often don’t work. Solid all around but I really prefer yeule's music when they're experimenting more
I love Low and Alan's music a lot already but this nevertheless really floored me! So beautifully performed and written, and Alan's voice has never sounded better imo
You know, I quite liked the past few CIVIC albums, but this is unfortunately really boring and forgettable. I don’t remember a single song after first listen.
Super impressive stuff, and probably my favourite rap album of the year so far!
One of Ty’s more straightforward and exciting works in years! Where Three Bells felt wonky and a little forgettable in his catalogue, this is just a damn good time!
Man this made me SO HAPPY! Groovy, inventive, uplifting, silly, beautiful, AAAHH
The best album PPC has released since 2019! Every time I feel like I’ve given up on this band they hit us with a sonic switch-up and I’m so thankful that these guys just keep going
Not my favourite Paul Simon record, but Train in the Distance and Johnny Ace are fucking tremendous
Like sorry but what the fuck is this?? Like what was even the approach? How are these the same guys make The Suburbs or Funeral?
