Sabrina Carpenter - Singular Act II
56

Same critique as the first act. This is slightly worse, but it has the same problem of being basic and boring.

Sabrina Carpenter - Singular Act I
58

Bland, basic, and boring. There really isn't much to say. Not much can be expected when you are signed to Hollywood records, who are notoriously against risk taking in music.

Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday 2
32

Sample slop. Pork Friday 2 is worse than Pink Friday in every conceivable way. All of Nicki's hits that aren't features since her debut have been because of samples, but this is the worst example because nearly the whole album is a sample. There is little to appreciate here. Nothing on Pork Friday 2 is worth listening to when there is most likely another Nicki song that does what any song on this album is trying to do, but better.

Metallica - Metallica
80

I don't understand the hate this gets. Leave it up to the metal fans to accuse Metallica of selling out because they didn't make a straight thrash album. God forbid artists take THEIR artistry into a different direction. It would be one thing if the "sell out" songs were bad, but they aren't. Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters are good songs. Just because there isn't almost ten minutes of guitar riffs and screaming recorded with a tin can doesn't detract ... read more

Metallica - ...And Justice for All
72

Metallica finally shows some cracks in their near perfect discography up until this point. Don't get me wrong this is still an enjoyable album, but this is not near the quality of their previous work. The emotion and energy are still on point, but the production is bad. The mixing on the bass is truly abysmal. This isn't anything that hasn't already been said one thousand times, but it is the biggest detriment to this album. The concept is there, but the execution of said concept ... read more

Metallica - Master of Puppets
82

This is my favorite Metallica album and probably my favorite metal album. I'm not a fan of the genre most of the time, but this is very good. A few of the songs are a bit long for me, but the instrumentation is exceptional. Overall, a masterclass of metal.

GIVĒON - BELOVED
68

It's not bad, but I was bored. I'm not the biggest fan of GIVĒON's voice and the album as a whole just wasn't a very remarkable experience. I was entertained while I was listening, but nothing made me want to listen to it again. It's smooth and has good vibes, but that's kind of it. The production was bland and not very interesting. Nothing that standout, but enjoyable in the moment.

Metallica - Ride the Lightning
80

A great improvement from the last album. This would be higher for me, but I really don't like For Whom the Bells Tolls. I find the song annoying so it drags it down. Other than that I thought it was pretty good. I don't personally care for metal as a genre, but I can appreciate this album.

Metallica - Kill 'Em All
74

A solid debut from one of the most notorious bands of all time. It's not my personal taste, but I can appreciate the raw emotion and quality of the project. Defiantly room to grow, but still a good album.

Ed Sheeran - =
22

Good God I can't stand this man. This is Ed Sheeran at his most blank, dull, and empty. His obsession with charts and streams has only made him into a rat who gets off by seeing his shitty, meaningless songs reach number one. This is not art, it is a product. A product that Ed Sheeran wants you to buy so he can get another boner when the album hits the top of the charts and tortures everyone's ears on the radio. And the people that enjoy this mess do not care about listening to ... read more

Metallica - St. Anger
18

Nearly unlistenable. This sounds like it was made with pots in pans in one of the bandmember's kitchen's. An hour and a half of complete slop. The best part of Metallica is there amazing instrumentals, which is almost completely gone here. There is not many redeeming qualities. This is shit from a butt.

Doja Cat - Scarlet
66

The hits are hitting, but that's about it. I respect her trying to be taken more seriously as a rapper by going for a Hip Hop album and ditching most of her pop sound, but that is where Doja thrives. She is cursed with the ability of making very good pop music, but not wanting to be a pop star. There are definitely some great songs on here, like Agora Hill and Attention, though.

Jessica Winter - My First Album
70

A decent debut from Jessica Winter. There are some interesting concepts and songs here that definitely show her potential. I really hope she gets the opportunity to expand her artistry and create something truly great.

Tate McRae - THINK LATER
68

There are some catchy pop songs on Tate McRae's THINK LATER, but the majority of the record is boring and uninspired. Beyond the singles there isn't much depth. It's at best catchy and at its worst, its unremarkable.

ROSÉ - rosie
62

ROSÉ's solo debut is very bland and boring. There's not much here that makes her standout from her peers who are occupying the singer songwriter space. Although there are some passible songs, they could have been sung by anyone. If you are going to market yourself as a singer songwriter, the writing and story telling should be the focus and should be personal to you. This isn't that. It is mundane experiences that are mildly relatable to a large audience. I'll give ... read more

Kanye West - Late Registration
80

To me, Kayne’s second album is very similar to his debut. I know they are a trilogy, but Graduation, even though I like that one less than the first two, is much different in style than its predecessors. Nonetheless, Late Registration matches the quality of Kayne’s previous album.

Kanye West - The College Dropout
80

A pretty good debut from Kanye. A far cry from where we are today, The College Dropout contains great production with clever lyrics and a decent flow. My only complaint, and the album’s biggest flaw, is that it runs on for way too long. Other than that, a solid effort.

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
80

This is probably my favorite album by Kanye. I didn’t realize how many songs I knew from this album until I listened to it all the way through, but there are some hits on here. While I do think it gets dragged down by an excessive amount of features, the production and mix of instrumentation is very good. Overall, a great album.

Kanye West - Yeezus
68

I don’t understand the praise this album gets. I get that it’s experimental and trying to be creative, but, to me, it ends up just sounding like a glorified noise machine. The lyrics are also a bit pretentious to me. I understand that the lyrics were probably not perceived as Kayne literally seeing himself as a god when this came out, but in the context of how Kayne is acting today, I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually believed some of what he was saying. I also don’t ... read more

Kanye West - Graduation
76

Not a bad album by any means, but supremely overrated. I felt the production felt too much and overdone at times and some of the sampling wasn’t my favorite. For me, it was very hit or miss, with some really great songs and some that I didn’t care for at all. Overall, a good album that can lean a bit overproduced and mediocre.
