Wet Leg - moisturizer
76

A charmingly weird album that had me intrigued all the way through. I think Wet Leg is a band that really stands apart from their peers because of their peculiarity. The music was pretty enjoyable too. There were a few songs that didn't do much for me, but overall it was pretty good. I'm looking forward to what they do next.

Amy Winehouse - Frank
82

While not as great as her sophomore effort, Frank is still very charming and loaded with Amy Winehouse's personality. This project is much more jazz than Back to Black, but it is still a good blend of soul and even hip-hop leaning beats. Winehouse's performance is the best part of this, with her voice selling the project. A great warm-up to the legendary album she would release next.

Keyshia Cole - The Way It Is
79

Keyshia Cole's debut LP is great example of exceptional 2000's R&B. While there are some songs that I'm not a fan of, there are some bangers on this album. Her voice is the best part of the album by far. It really brings the project together. It can lean a bit generic at times, but this is mostly a nonissue. A great album from a stellar vocalist.

André 3000 - New Blue Sun
80

The slow paced ambient New Blue Sun walks a line of mayhem and quietness. I don't think anyone expected André 3000 to release a flute instrumental album, but I'm glad he did. I thought it was great, from the instrumentation, the pacing, and ambient noises. I think the only gripe I had was it felt like some of the songs could have gone a little bit further than they did, but it wasn't a big issue for me. Overall, I thought it was a quality album that provided a great ... read more

The singles definitely carry this album. Montero loses steam in its second half and some of the album tracks aren't great, but it's solid overall. I think the honest exploration of his identity to be inspiring. Having a figure this open about sexuality without trying to hide it in innuendos is not something that happens often in mainstream pop. Overall, a solid project with great singles.

Addison Rae - Addison
74

I had very low expectations going in and was actually pleasantly surprised. I was going in expecting a bland cash grab like so many Tik Tok stars that try music end up doing, but was shocked to discover a pretty well considered project. The best part of the production, which I thought was great. The vocal delivery, on the other hand, didn't really sell me. Addison is solid for a debut project, but I think Addison Rae's next step would be a greater artistic identity. Nonetheless, she ... read more

Leon Thomas - MUTT
74

An overall enjoyable listening experience. I didn't think there was anything groundbreaking going on, but it was fine enough. If there is one complaint I have I didn't like how much reverb on the vocals there was. Other than that it was pretty good. Nothing great, but enjoyable.

Bad Bunny - DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS
80

A great album from Bad Bunny, featuring amazing production. It's a great blend of Latin Pop and Reggaetón. Benito's vocal delivery and energy are great. All in all, an inventive and fun project throughout.

Morgan Wallen - I'm The Problem
16

This is some of the worst slop I've listened to. My ears were bleeding for nearly the entire two hours. The only reason that this is two hours is to inflate sales and streaming numbers. This is such a dead behind the eyes, lifeless piece of shit from an even bigger piece of shit. I think he said the word whiskey about a thousand times. The production is some of the most bland and uninspired I have ever heard. The vocal production also sounds like Morgan Wallen was put through about ten ... read more

Babyfxce E - M Block

A decent mixtape, but nothing really special. Most songs are forgettable. I guess this would get the job done if you were a fan of Detroit style rap, but there isn't really a reason to listen to this instead of the rappers that do what he is doing but better. Just kind of average.

Kesha - High Road
68

This is probably my least favorite Kesha project. I'm not really a fan of the route she went here. At best, I think this is fine, but then you have songs like Potato Song that just kind of confuse me. It's like trying to be fun, but she's not really selling it, which is usually Kesha's strength. Overall, my least favorite project from Kesha.

80

While this album isn't Kesha's strongest in terms of production, it is one of her best lyrically. Her ability to turn her pain into art is remarkable. Rainbow is so honest and uniquely Kesha. The obvious standout is Praying, but the other tracks are mostly great as well. I'm not the biggest fan of the country pop, but it's fine. All in all, a great album from Kesha.

Kesha - Warrior
78

A great improvement from her debut. I think this record outdoes Animal and Cannibal by being more consistent and having better quality album tracks. The hits on this album are also just as great if not better. There were only a few tracks that I didn't like. Beyond those tracks, the album ranged from good to great. Overall a solid project from Kesha.

Playboi Carti - Die Lit
68

Die Lit is just so unremarkable to me. This is his best project and at its best it's just ok. The repetitive and uninspired lyrics and themes get exhausting quickly and the production doesn't do much to help that. Others praise this for its simplicity in its melodies, but this album's use of minimalism bored rather than intrigued me.

A very fun album from Doja Cat. Some of the songs aren't her best work, but there are many songs that are very enjoyable. The first part of this album is defiantly stronger than the latter half (with the exception of Kiss Me More). I think in all, Planet Her is a pretty good album with lots of personality.

Kesha - Cannibal
75

A shorter version of Animal that is only slightly better than its predecessor. There are some of Kesha's best and worse included here. There isn't much depth, but there really doesn't need to be. All in all, it is just another pretty great party record from Kesha.

Kesha - Animal
74

While Animal is very inconsistent as a whole, there are undeniable hits and bangers. Kesha perfectly embodies the party animal she is portraying. This embodiment really seals the deal for this record. That aside, some songs like Dinosaur, while catchy, don't stick the landing for me and end up just being kind of annoying. Overall a very fun project from Kesha.

Michael Jackson - Thriller
92

Hit after hit. Undeniably one of the most influential pop records of all time. There isn't really much to say other than it's great. Everything from the funk, ballads and soul on the record is done excellently. The only song I really don't care for is The Girl is Mine, but it is still ok.

83

I'm treating this as a review of just the deluxe tracks. The vibe of the deluxe feels so distinct from the original that it might as well have been a completely separate release were they not trying to maintain the streams and chart position of the original SOS. Regardless, I thought the additional songs were great. The production is interesting and her voice is as amazing as ever. I feel like the lyrics are a bit stale in terms of content, but it isn't a glaring issue. Overall, ... read more

Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday
64

Despite having some hits on it, Pink Friday isn't really a great record. It feels bloated with dated and uninspired songs that go in one ear and out the other. There isn't much replay value at all and most of the songs are barley above average. The writing and bars also aren't good even compared to Nicki's later work. Overall, it's far from perfect, but not entirely bad.
