It has been just about a year since I listened to Godspeed You! Black Emperor's Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven for the first time, and truthfully, I found it to be underwhelming upon first listen. I particularly enjoyed the highs of Sleep, but I found the rest of the album to "fall by the wayside," and I can distinctly remember clumping Static in with all of the meaningless experimental prog pieces (I like to call them stupid rock) like Pink ... read more
I want nothing more than for Tame Impala to make another fully-fledged psychedelic rock album along the lines of Lonerism or InnerSpeaker
Given my previous opinions on Currents, I was not expecting to get any enjoyment out of Lonerism. Boy was I happy to be disproven in every way. Lonerism has become one of my favorite albums of all time and it has proven itself to be infinitely replayable. Camel continues to impress even after the slight disappointment that was The Snow Goose.
"What if we make an incredible prog album but replace with the guitar with brass?" Was maybe the best question Peter Hammill ever asked in his life.

It's hard to imagine a single piece of work as good as this. Long Season is incredible on the first listen but there's always something new to experience here and this honestly breaks my scale.
You haven't experienced music until you've heard Doctor Jimmy / The Rock / Love Reign O'er Me.
I've somewhat come around on a couple songs here but this is an AWFUL album with nearly no redeeming factors. Oh Comely I'm pretty sure is my least favorite song of all time.
This album is phenomenal but the medley isn't quite as good as everyone says it is
Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) and In the Backseat are the only ones here that do anything for me. The former is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Possibly the most overlooked album I've listened to. Everyone deserves to hear To One in Paradise at some point
