Pretty good and even beautiful at moments, also has a very good vibe, but nothing too crazy
If it's not swans last album it's at least their last big sound albums. This album marks the end of in my opinion the greatest run a band has ever been on. I think this gets hated on just because white light is so good. That was destined to happen for swans, when you make so much music and some of it so good some albums like this one are gonna fall behind the others. It's still pretty darn good though and works well as a darker side to white light. Honestly this is a little overhated, this isn't bad, it's just not swans
This is one of the best written albums ever. As a Christian myself I can really respect Gira and the way he approaches the religion on this album. Yes there are bad sides to all of religion and ways it can be wrong and the way Gira talks about it on this album is so though provoking and well done. Also the sound is way better than anything swans did before and very good. Not Swans best but a record in their catalogue that really stands out to me.
I think this is everything swans ever worked for coming together for the opus of their discography
