Gala is a fantastic collection of Lush’s earlier material, Sweetness and Light and De-Luxe are two of my favourite shoegaze songs ever. Just some fantastic stuff from one of the most colourful 90’s band.

Ride’s debut is really nice, lovely guitar effects left, right and centre, damn good drumming with some nice breakbeats that you may be able to call this album proto-breakcore, and with a feeling that’s not just glum, existential or horrifying; just pretty uplifting (unless if you’re Decay).

I’ve finally listen to someone else who’s not Aphex Twin or !!!: Nightmares On Wax! For such a name, he makes some calming stuff; this album is a further example of it.

Firstly, I love the bass driven, jazzy sampledelia feel. It really done its job by calming me down with nicely made mellow downtempo beats- I love to describe this album as Gran Turismo music for how much it really would fits in between the calm and organic menu soundtracks within the later games (from 4 onwards). ... read more
