D'Angelo - Black Messiah
100

this dangelos fellow is a swell guy! he definitely has a promising music career ahead of him

also, I kinda like that you don't know what to expect from song to song. it increases their individual uniqueness and power, so sometimes I was rocked to romantic dreams, and sometimes I was yelled at by black Israelites. weird (not for everyone), soulful and optimistic, it's a lovely record all around.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland
94

Yeezus reminds me of ...and the gods made love. Think about that. Other than that, this album is the Jimi pinnacle, the most mind bending, poetic, and powerful album of his short life.

fave tracks: 1983 (the merman jawn), crosstown traffic, voodoo chile, still raining still dreaming, long hot summer night

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
97

Disorder is one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time, because it sounds like Ian's clinging on to the last dredges of light before plummeting into the darkness that is in the rest of the album. Mesmerizingly haunting.

fave tracks: disorder, day of lords, she lost control, new dawn fades, shadowplay

The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
95

disappointed my girlfriend wasn't referenced in dreams (just playing)
