A slight different sound to yeule's previous album which I absolutely fell in love with, but Evangelic Girl with a Gun certainly holds it's own! Some of the album tracks need some time to grow on me, but the singles especially are real highlights! It's fun yet dark, and a great little listen! Dudu dudu dudu dudu will be stuck in my head for a LONG time!
There's something so poetic about how David R Edwards approaches music and Wales, in particular how he does it in a way that only native Welsh speakers would ever really appreciate. This album is so negative, but somehow encapsulates everything the Welsh know and love about life. Top quality.
A chaotically fun listen that experiments in the best ways!
Truly horrifying listen, woods takes you on an intense journey from beginning to end.
It's a cute, easy listen - but one that is ultimately underwhelming
An incredible deluxe release - it builds on everything good from AKRILLA to create a seriously fun yet impressive listen
It feels a little safe, but very enjoyable nonetheless!
Went in blind, and boy was it an experience! Incredibly creative, it's a really interesting listen and leaves me on the lookout for more from Lucy!
Decent and some strong moments, but it's nothing you haven't heard many times before
A beautiful release by Tom aka Geowizard! It's charming and entertaining, and whilst it may be conventionally 'weak' in some areas, the amount of personality packed into the album makes up for any shortcomings. The vocals are the weakest element, particularly the falsettos, but still feel right at home in the tracks for example! A very nice listen!
It's far from amazing, but it actually feels like he CARES again. It's a step in the right direction for sure.
There's something in the water in Brixton, and knowing London water, it's probably undrinkable. Yet still, they churn out insane music acts like it's nothing!
This does feel slightly on the pretentious side for me, but it's still absolutely mesmerising and seriously impressive! I'll be looking forward to what comes next from this group!
Despite being incredibly energetic, 'Fancy That' feels lacking in identity due to the constant sampling throughout. It feels like an assault of upbeat tracks without any real thought behind where they are going or why they exist - leaving the 20 minute album feeling like a flash in the pan moment. It's like scrolling through tiktok but musically - quick flashy attention grabbers that actually don't hold much substance when you actually pay attention to them. Nothing here ... read more
Unfortunately, CSH have never really done it for me and this album continues that trend. I can fully see why some would really enjoy this, and there are some good moments here, it's just that their sound as a whole has never really clicked for me. Big fan of the ambition though.
A seriously good album, but Chemistry is far and away the highlight of the whole thing
