Angine de Poitrine - Vol.II
84

Groovy and quirky, pretty much what I wanted to see in this second volume

Arlo Parks - Ambiguous Desire
73

Whilst a decent enough album in itself, Ambiguous Desire feels a bit underwhelming and flat given my expectations following Collapsed in Sunbeams

Thundercat - Distracted
68

Just really not feeling it with this album, which is a shame as I usually enjoy Thundercat! There are some really solid moments in the early section of the album, and the whole thing is really well produced as you'd expect - but outside of a few tracks the whole thing felt bland and quite superficial, with very little content of note to actually keep me engaged! The whole second half felt like it dragged on for ever and wasn't all that enjoyable.

Dove Ellis - Blizzard
86

There's just something about this genre in 2025 that's special - this album is yet another gorgeous example of how beautiful music can be! Pale Song is a masterpiece - and the rest of the album, whilst not quite as magnificent, is still a lovely listen too!

Way Dynamic - Massive Shoe
84

A beautiful, emotional album

Man/Woman/Chainsaw - Eazy Peazy
71

There are some really promising elements and moments in this EP, and at its best I think it's a really enjoyable listen. My biggest issue with this EP though is that these moments are only occasional, and otherwise this is a pretty rough and messy release. The vocals in the first few tracks really didn't work well for me either, but this improved when they settled down into a more coherent and consistent sound in the back half of the EP

DON BROCO - Nightmare Tripping
79

A really solid album with a solid variety of sounds and ideas. It's missing a bit of refinement for me to make it a really good album, but this is a solid listen for sure that serves as a great introduction for me to the band!

Robyn - Sexistential
75

A confident record that unfortunately fails to reach the heights it aims for - it's not a bad album by any means though

Madra Salach - It's a Hell of an Age
80

A beautiful rich collection of tracks that holds an authentic Irish feel to them, with a tickling of post punk scattered throughout.

Angine de Poitrine - Vol.1
83

Jumping on the hype train - this isn't as mesmerising as their KEXP performance but is still a really cool and fun listen

Courtney Barnett - Creature of Habit
78

A really enjoyable listen that is both consistent and fresh, although perhaps lacking slightly in some aspects which in turn holds it back from being brilliant

Snail Mail - Ricochet
76

Consistently decent, but does nothing insanely memorable to bring me back again

Fcukers - Ö
83

I really enjoyed the majority of this, but I couldn't escape the feeling that it would sound so much more fitting blasting out of club speakers than it does coming through my headphones. Without that atmosphere, it just feels a bit flatter than hoped.

RAYE - THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE.
84

Intensely dramatic, at times to its benefit and occasionally a touch detrimental to the whole listening experience.

beabadoobee - All I Did Was Dream of You
NR

Hell yeah give me more of this

Tom Misch - Full Circle
75

A nice collection of pretty standard Misch tracks - if that's what you're looking for then you won't be disappointed

Westside Cowboy - So Much Country 'Till We Get There
69

This may feel like a harsh score, but after seeing them perform live this EP just sells them SO short! There's so little energy and passion in this EP that is present in their live performance, it's like a completely different band!

Afterlife Slave - THE WARPING
83

A really strong atmospheric dnb release - I really enjoyed my time listening to this!

Mckayla Twiggs - WHAT A GIRL WANTS
75

A decent enough short EP here
