The best album of all time.
Edit: When I first wrote this sentence a year ago I just kind of made quick review so that i have something on my acc, because whenever i think of what my favourite album is, for the last 6 years since I first heard it it was this one. Mainly because of the hits like Instant Crush and Get Lucky and also because I have fond memories of listening to this album on one very snowy winter at night.
I've heard a lot of great music since, but no album has ever had a ... read more
We have:
1. "In Rainbows" wannabe
2. Nobody Loves You
3. No Way Out
4. Vampire Stole My Fridge
5. Just A Ruined Song
6. Please Stop
The first and last songs are ok, but maybe they just seem so in comparison to the absolute unlistenable dogshit in the middle of the ep. There is no point in any of these remixes. I feel like pitchfork reviewing the daft club release.
At first I was disappointed, but then i got it!
The first I heard of The Von Bondies was from the lead single of this album "C'mon C'mon", which took me over completely and utterly. With it's more punky sound, catchy chorus, great vocal performance from Jason Stollsteimer, relentless, powerful drumming from Don Blum and overall very enerhetic feel. This is my first Geese record, I have never heard of this band until I made an account here. This is one of the most talked about records of 2025 on this website and it has been getting a lot of praise since it's release, even being ranked third on the year end list. I have no idea how to bridge this little intro into my thoughts, so let's get to the point: I think it's overrated. I do think this record has a lot to offer, like incredible instrumentals, outside the box ... read more
This expanded release fits really well with the established streak of uncompromisingly strong songs, some honestly very much deserving to be on the original. Peeling back the curtain on some of the magic is interesting on the first listen, but also Todd just make up your fucking mind about what it is that you want to sing about dude. I do really like how the cover reflects that we're looking into their heads/ into the production of this marvelous record.
P.S. Just want to say that the ... read more
