honestly preferred the second half more than the first half, but like actually, what the fuck. mount eerie and the cures dropping on 11/1 will be regarded as one of the best nights for music to drop, ever. definitely an AOTY contender for me.
also, endsong is the SOTY for me, hopefully it grows with either listen. (after listening to it several times i just cannot get enough of the progression throughout the song, so simple and amazing at the same time)
edit: yeah no this beats mount eerie ... read more
man, 2024 has been a journey. it's the year where i finally decided to branch out of hip-hop and venture into other music genres... synthpop, jazz, metal, and rock. imagine i haven't had made the choice... looking at my top albums of 2024, the higher ones have been stuff from r&b and synthpop. and coming to this album i didn't expect it to top imaginial disk. but somehow, this album here has done exactly that.
i'll have to relisten to it a couple more times before i ... read more
i didnt know how much emotion instrumentals can convey solely on their own until now
is there a new album from him releasing this friday i need to know i need to know i need to know i need to know i need to know i need to know i need to know i need to know
yeah there's no misses on this thing. this kinda feels like a polar opposite compared to his newest album, chromokopia, which is enthralling to see the contrast between now.
tyler the creator introspective edition. his best-produced and most personal album, although with some considerable momentum slowers. this album has some of tyler's best work to date, like "take your mask off" and "like him".
this album will grow on people, just wait and see.
this is more of what the mainstream pop music needs, originality. we don't need such mediocrity that was taylor swift's latest album, but pop records that actually have flashy production and at least some resemblence of lyrical substinence.
seems like, street lights, going, happen to be just like moments, passing, in front of me so i hopped in, the cab and, i paid my fare and i know my destination, but im just not there on the streets... in the streets...
kanye's fourth album has incredible highs, and is arguably the most influential album of all time. it's also his most simplistic one in terms of production and overal lyricism (pre-jik obviously), but still leaves a resounding tribute to his mother.
the debut album of one of the most creative minds in music excels in what it excels in, making hip-hop much more accessible. almost on the same level of influence as 808's, and has such lush production throughout.
the instrumentations and hard-hitters are more potent on this album compared to tcd, but still retaining many of the soulful elements that made tcd such a groundbreaking album for the scope of hip-hop.
also, DFSL (remix), We Major, and Hey Mama is the best three song run on any album ever, and nothing can convince me otherwise
watching someone forget how to live feels worse than dying. seeing that death isn't the worst fate that awaits you is a truly harrowing experience. my heart goes out to all those that are suffering or watching someone suffer, knowing that the battle is already over is a thought often too hard to stomach.
probably one of the only albums that i consider a "classic" in the era after 2010
so personal, so short, so sweet.
so raw, so minimalistic, so emotional.
so underrated.
sometimes i wish this kanye was back
someday, someday...
has some of the wildest highs in any hip hop project ever, hands down. the production also sounds like something that could've released today, maybe ten, twnety years from now. it is overrated, but holy hell the production is so lush and grandiose, i don't think this sort of album will ever be pulled off again.
after months of relistening to this album, i do have to say that the tracklist is overall inconsistant. tracks like so appaled, monster, hell of a life, and blame game sadly ... read more
i absolutely adore this album. probably a staple growing up, and the songs, although generic, were catchy and fun to sing along to. with that said, it's still not the greatest, biases aside, especially when compared to some better rock albums that i've listened to.
i swear these guys have some of the best themes conveyed in each of their projects but execute it with... their special lyrics. i still love it tho idfc what you guys think
