i was checking out the most popular songs rn and thought "that's so true" was pretty good, i checked the reception on the album and found it to be kinda low... i kinda see why now. i don't get why her other song "I love you, I'm sorry" is so damn popular...
but deluxe version-wise, i might just check out
idk
wait, i forgot to review this??
anyways, this is one of the most solid pop albums of this year. although it doesn't go out of its way to do something truly boundary breaking, it capitalizes on what makes pop music good, and does it justice
so, i made a small mistake when reviewing this originally, a few months ago
my rating was terribly off
i rated it too highly.
i feel like this song just doesn't have enough substance to be memorable
if i had a choice between listening to this album or drowning i would choose drowning
a pretty good album
honestly, folk music isn't a genre that i particularly enjoy. but, even though i don't enjoy the music more than others, i still cant deny the talent and dedication that went into making this album
this album is responsible for the rock obsession i have right now.
made me realize that there's a whole other world outside of pop and rap
now im obsessed :(
but yeah, this is a flawless album
at first i hated this song
now i only hate the chorus
would honestly by a 8.5+ if the chorus didn't exist...
but it exists... so...
low is a lot better, taking the average of both songs i would give it like a 35
dawn fm my beloved
ok so very interesting story, the weeknd was the first artist that actually made me INTERESTED in music. like i usually just listened to whatever shit was on the radio and stuff, but i was so obsessed with blinding lights during late 2021 that i activately listened to after hours... the first album i ever listened to, in depth. pretty crazy, right. anyways, right after i finished listening to after hours, i realized dawn fm was dropping. first time i was hyped for an album ... read more
i remember the days where i used to listen to this entire album from start to end.
yeah i don't know what i was thinking back then
but hey the songs are all great
even if some are significantly worse than others
am i the only person who finds this album to be quite unmemorable, other than the few standout tracks like stargazing, sicko mode, skeletons, can't say, and stop trying to be god? it's a good album, but i feel like rodeo and utopia were more groundbreaking in terms of their production style, which is obviously what travis is known for. this album screams "i want to be commercially successful" which is why i don't like this album as much.
