Classic, but I do have a couple gripes with this album. The album is a little bloated, and some songs (2 or 3) are basically just like 4 minute interlude's which definitely lose my attention to the album and take me out of it. Also Mos sort of lets the beat rock a lot for 1 or 2 minutes at a time and sometimes just talks as intros and outros of songs for a long time which again takes me out of the album and loses my attention. Mos is amazing though and this album is a certified classic. If the ... read more
Lots of potential here. The problem with this album is that a lot of the songs for the most part sound the same. I really like 6LACK's sound. Its very atmospheric and dark, and he could make a great album if he experimented just a bit with his sound and made the songs a little more diverse. I also really enjoyed songs like Never Know, PRBLMS, and Ex Calling.
Man, this could have been fucking great. Songs like Trap and a Dream, Rubber Band Man, Olympian, Plain Jane, Mattress REMIX, East Coast REMIX, Nandos, and Tango are all fucking fantastic songs. The problem with this mixtape is, there are lots of songs holding it down as a cohesive project, mainly due to the features. Aww Yeah, What Do You Do, Coach Cartier, Mad Man, and One Night Savage as examples of songs held down by their features. If those songs were taken off, this could have easily been ... read more
Fantastic album. This could end up being one of my favorite double-albums of all time. I can't stop listening to it. To me, KRIT's alums under Def Jam had been a little underwhelming. But a year ago he left Def Jam and released this independently. KRIT has finally made a fantastic album and lived up to his mixtapes. The first disc is essentially some more aggressive tracks and some party/club tracks (without losing his artistic integrity). The second disc is more soulful and personal. The album ... read more
Just okay. Most of the songs sounded the same. Only one stood out to me, which was Killed Before. Thug killed that shit
To me, Captain Murphy is a mix of MF DOOM and Tyler, The Creator. Has sort of a monotone low voice and is funny/disturbing (at times). The instrumentals are also fucking great. FlyLo is a more than competent rapper and manages to create a great piece of work with Duality and I'm seeing good thing's for FlyLo's alter ego in the future.
Good EP, a little underwhelming but I still enjoyed it. Sounds sort of like Cosmogramma leftovers.
One of the best albums of 2017. It's a funky journey through Thundercat's mind. A large part of this album as well as being a great musical work is it's humor. At some point's I was dying laughing.
KAYTRANADA showcases his skills as a producer. This project isn't all that cohesive and has a fair amount of filler, but it is really great. I'm very excited for what KAYTRANADA has in store for us next.
Pure bars. Preemo's production is flawless. On the Deluxe Edition of PRhyme, 4 tracks are added, all of which are fucking fantastic. Royce is great on this thing, and all the features are great
My main problems with ASAP MOB still stand. Rocky and Ferg (and Ferg has fallen off a little since Trap Lord but I'm stick checking for him) are clearly on a different level than the rest of the members. Too much Playboi Carti on this project, and too many generic hooks and boring/shitty verses. Honestly Im Still just waiting for Rocky's next solo project which is hopefully soon. He's the only member of the mob that I still care about besides Ferg at this point. I don't think ASAP MOB will ever ... read more
Not amazing, but not bad. It was a pretty good debut by ASAP Twelvyy. Honestly, I expected worse. This project to me is a little above average
Meh. Some songs are really good, some are just awful or generic. Imo there isn't much replay value there. I can see people liking this project though. I guess it just wasn't for me.
Kid Cudi redeems himself with an album that certainly isn't as good as his earlier work, it puts him back on track to make some more great work for his fans!
