really fun but suffers from lots of songs sounding similar (the curse of the 12 bar blues)
a grab bag of a couple of great new tracks. CCTV is similar to some of the stuff off of wallsocket and northwest zombie girl sounds like itd fit right into the fishmonger era but corporate shuffle and stupid stand apart from the rest. similarly dancey to tracks like locals and girl/boys they have an insanely infectious groove and are 2 of the best tracks shes put out so far.
favs: stupid, corporate shuffle
least: CCTV
edit: nvm CCTV is amazing. I thought the outro of the track sounded pretty ... read more
more music in the style of halo bounce. im here for it mostly. the ending with the heavy sidechain is so great.
a fun listen if not particularly substantial. it reminded me that i do actually like denzel.
so underrated. this recording of the evilone which sobs might be the best song they have ever done. i really love the inclusion of red as well it intros the album so well and the droney opening 10mins is so beautiful. track 2 is my least favourite, its not bad by any means and builds to a phenomenal noisy conclusion, it just doesnt hold up to the drone masterpiece that is red and the post rock/sludge metal brain melting fusion that is the evilone which sobs.
this album is a fucking masterpiece. nai palms voice is absolutely beautiful, the production is so tight, the drums on this project are just 🥺🥺🥺
i need this album on vinyl so bad but i cant find it cheap anywhere in australia (why, they are literally australian 😪)
everytime i listen to this i realise more and more its one of the most fun albums i have ever heard, every song just drenched in love.
i dont love the last song too much, it feels a bit wierd and out of place. but i ... read more
dissapointed tbh. i absolutely love mood valiant and for the most part this album didnt match my expectations aftet that lp.
edit: nvm they cooked i just had to let it marinate, the title track is so deep in the pocket its on the floor, white rabbit is still the worst song ive heard from them by far, almost unlistenable at parts.
one of the most impactful albums for me creatively, my introduction to noise music (besides someone playing snippets of merzbow to me as a joke). an angel of great and terrible light is one of those songs where i wish i could rate it 101, one of the best songs i have ever heard. the structure of this album having essentially no structure (beyond each track building in intensity) until the explosion that is track 6 also helps to elevate that track for me.
my only problem with this album is the ... read more
an amazing journey through so many different soundscapes. my jaw was on the floor during the closer, an absolutely beautiful way to send off the album.
favs: Endocrine Disruptor, Gordian Worm, Sleep Hygiene, Impossible Light / Golden Flower
least favs: Weaponised Dysphoria, Pattern Screamers
i think his style suits more grand compositions better. this song is very easy to get lost in, in both a good way and not so good way. still very pretty :)
im really hoping that basalt and this having similar looking artworks means that theres an ep or lp coming soon because i SNEED
very similar to laurel in that it has distinct folk, dubstep and distorted guitar sections. the vocals are amazing and beautifully layered. i feel at times it suffers from a lack of direction, seeming to jump from section to section without much warning. overall tho its very well put together.
the best fusion of folk and dubstep and midwest emo ive ever heard (its the only one)
scary ahh album 😱 (please play 96 neve campbell in the club)
i finally have to accept that this is a better album than the first. even though the first has what are imo the best tracks and individual moments of the series (club down, blood of the fang, la mala ordina) overall this is the better project
how could peggy call it scaring the hoes when this album exists
the moment i finished my first playthrough and overdose delusion came on was the moment i knew i loved this soundtrack
