This is a decent project from Travis. Nothing groundbreaking, but nothing totally awful either. Kind of just blah. If this was a mixtape it would probably have been received better, as it seems as though this was the least effort Travis put into any of this projects. The album starts very strong but begins to fade pretty quickly. Rodeo set the bar very high, and this didn't live up to the expectations then or now, with it still being his worst album.

One of the most energetic and exciting hip-hop albums of the last 10 years, Travis was able to build a world (an astroworld?) and invite us in. Listening to this album really feels like being at an amusement park, in the best way possible. Each song is a different ride, where the listener doesn't know where they will be taken to next. Utopia is Travis' most diverse album yet. While Travis doesn't shine lyrically, the production and sonics are very solid. He experiments stylistically over many different tracks and we see a side of Travis that hasn't been shown fully on previous projects. While not every experiment is a home-run, the direction should be applauded. The Kanye influence is definitely very apparent, with several songs even being throw-away Kanye songs.
