They haven't lost their magic:
Sonically dense, with so much to explore in these songs. The album begs for multiple listens and rewards greatly.
The way that Board of Canada can communicate a singular theme on their work without any lyrics or explicit guidance is just masterful, and the whole album has a deep sinister feel to it.
Tracks like Naraka, The World Becomes Flesh, All Reasons Depart, and You Retreat in Time and Space prove the duo still have the magic that made their early ... read more
Not even sure how to describe this album. So unlike anything else i've heard this year
Sometimes its hard to believe this album is as long as it is. The songs flow so seamlessly and the atmosphere is consistent and lovely. Absolutely worth a listen
She Said Nothing is a flawless track
This one's got some Elon Musk slander, that will be tolerated for sure
Omg I was there, such a weird experience to hear it again, but I'm happy to live it over and and over and over again
Brat summer is over, welcome Eastern block autumn
Seriously, these guys remain consistent as ever on this one, love their sound and this just adds to an incredible discography as it is
I mean, its good, but like I feel Fontaines always get so over hyped by media outlets. It has its moments but overall I found it it be a little lackluster
Favorites: Desire, Motorcycle Boy
I am a silly billy
I will always be a silly billy
Silly billy life for me
its not technically bad, its just incredibly boring and creatively bankrupt which for David Byrne is a sin
Insanely creative and unique front to back. I love the 1970s horror soundtrack vibes and I'm definitely coming back for more.
I mean this was okay, extremely middle of the road and generic indie rock. There wasn't much here for me to take away and by the second half all of the songs were just blending in with each other. I wish there was some more variety in sounds, vocals, or instrumentation throughout the whole thing.
Not only was this a lot fun, ahead of its time, extremely good, and catchy as hell. You can also completely hear how much they influenced bands like Crack Cloud and Bloc Party. Just a good time, amazing post punk
This album had a great sound, I loved the overall music and how consistent the whole experience was. I was particularly fond of the vocals as well, worked great with the music. However I think the albums length worked against it, about 3/4 of the way through it started to drag a bit. Felt like a lot of the ideas they had, had been spent. I think if it was a little shorter overall I would have loved it even more.
