Incredibly ambitious album, and mostly achieving the heights it's aiming for.
It's certainly the best thing he's put out in years, it has very brief flashes of that old Kanye magic, but it's not quite there. Something about the album just feels a bit soulless still. Not a huge amount of replays before getting bored. Really hope he continues in this direction though. If Kanye even has one more banger album in his career it would be a big treat.
Very nice, Scottish accent with English vocals always sounds quite satisfying to me. I preffered "It Won/T Be Like This All the Time" but this is very similar in sound and tone, so overall enjoyable.
I am not a black midi fan, and I guess I shan't be an MNBB fan either... The album feels a bit to disjointed and all over the place for me to actually enjoy it, and want to keep listening. There are some cool things here, and this certainly feels like an album that grows on you as you listen more. But with such albums I do not force myself to keep listening, if I don't want to play it again then I just won't, and in this case, after two listens I found myself just wanting to put ... read more
Metal is very tough for me, when it hits it hits, but I am not a connoisseur and most of the time the nuance of this kind of music is lost on me. Won't be listening to this again.
I remember seeing a review of her first album which was something like:
"Julia Jacklin in the bathroom crushing my dih - 9/10"
I can't find it anymore but this album is not as good as that album, and this review is not as good as that review - 7/10
Didnt enjoy as much as titanic rising, but it was cool
It's fine, but a bit forgettable, nothing really stood out and made me want to listen to again so don't think I will...
Couple nice songs, but not quite the level of OEND. Loved that album. Should revisit and rate it...
This album has a distinct lack of berries.
Honestly great album, was pleasantly surprised, some of the songs (dead in a post-truth world, and End of the rhythm) are suprising textured and deep, remind me almost of BCNR. It has a bit of a weird vibe, and initially I wasn't really sold on it but it is incredibly unique as an album, and if you let it grow on you it might become somewhat of an acquired taste that you start to seek out.
However, Land of the dead having 65 is criminal. The ... read more
The best album with the worst album cover I've ever heard. Luckily this was played for me because I never would have chosen to play this.
Track 2 is an absolument banger, this rating might go up if I continue to listen in the coming weeks
This fucking website sometimes I swear.... Guys this is not music, just anxiety inducing noises.
I really like the whirlwind song "Racing Mount Pleasant" from the stunning new album "Racing Mount Pleasant" by the up and coming prog rock band "Racing Mount Pleasant"
