Boston Manor - Welcome to the Neighbourhood
85

Damn, I love this thing. The songs are so sinister and satisfying. I feel that, because I live in the UK, I might like this more than someone not in the UK would, but I definitely thinks it’s a great album for anyone. The little bits of unclean vocals scattered throughout the record are really well done, and they show it can be done well if it’s not the whole record. England’s Dreaming is definitely my favourite track, and the only thing bad about it is that short part of ... read more

I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME - 1981 Extended Play
90

This is a stunning debut EP for them. It’s just so energetic and fun while also being kinda psychotic on stuff like Choke. The short interludes between tracks work really well to build this dead of a lost band from the 80s. I didn’t really like Do It All The Time at first, but not I love it. There’s not a complaint I have about this EP.

Favourite Track: Social Climb

Gerard Way - Baby You're a Haunted House
85

This is the catchiest solo song Gerard has came out with yet and damn, is it a banger. Not really to be taken too seriously tho.

Fall Out Boy - Lake Effect Kid
70

Lake Effect Kid is a good EP. Not bad, not great. Just good. The song Lake Effect Kid is one of my favourite of the year. But that’s probably because it was originally written pre-hiatus. City In The Garden, a completely new song is also pretty good. Superfade is another attempt of Fall Out Boy doing EDM like they did on Young And Menace, but it is substantially better.

Favourite Track: Lake Effect Kid

Paramore - brand new eyes
95

There isn’t a song on this album that I don’t love. The sound of the whole album is just so grand and amazing. Hayley Williams vocals on this are just brilliant, especially on All I Wanted, and they really help to show the raw emotion put into this. The Only Exception is such a sweet song, and Brick By Boring Brick really comes together like a really fairy tale. The agression in Ignorance really stands out for me, and it was actually my favourite song for a while. My second ... read more

MUTEMATH - Mutemath
80

This is a really good album with some great electronics incorporated into a rock sound. Paul Meaney’s vocals are great and and really stand out. This band’s really underrated and deserves a lot more attention.

Favourite Tracks: Typical, Control, Plan B

Least Favourite Track: You Are Mine

MUTEMATH - Voice In The Silence
70

Most of the songs were good, but I didn’t really like Happy To Oblige. There’s just something about it that gets on my nerves.

Favourite Track: Sooner Or Later

Basement - Beside Myself
85

This is the first Basement album I’ve heard, and it’s absolutely amazing. This is probably my favourite album of 2018 (although that may be because I haven’t listened to that much that came out this year). Reason For Breathing has a slightly heavier sound than the rest of the album, but it works really well, and has become my favourite song of the year. The album had me hooked from the start with Disconnect, a great track. I’m definitely gonna check out Basement’s ... read more

Big Baller B - The Good, The Brad, and the Emo
99

Big Baller B hadda go Sicko Mode to create something this beautiful.

Muse - Absolution
95

This is definitely my favourite Muse album. Time Is Running Out has become my favourite Muse song. The guitars and drums on this album are great, and it’s just an overall great rock album.

Favourite Tracks: Time Is Running Out, Butterflies & Hurricanes, Stockholm Syndrome

Least Favourite Track: Ruled By Secrecy

The Good, the Bad & the Queen - Merrie Land
80

Merrie Land is pretty good. Nothing extremely special, but still a good listen. Some of the songs on this really stand out for me, like The Truce Of Twilight. They somehow managed to get the recorder to sound good on Gun To The Head. The Poison Tree has an amazing instrumental that hooks me every time. Damon’s vocals on the whole thing are really good. It’s a solid album. Damn, I don’t know why, but i just keep coming back to this. It’s such an attractive ... read more

twenty one pilots - Trench

DAMN.

Favourite Tracks: Jumpsuit, Nico And The Niners, The Hype

Least Favourite Track: Leave The City

Muse - Simulation Theory
70

This is probably Muse’s worst album so far, but I still really enjoyed the majority of it. There’s some songs like Something Human and Get Up And Fight that truly fail on most levels. After a few listens those two songs do get better, but not by much. The rest of the songs are varying from good to great. Blockades is a song that isn’t anything new from Muse, but is still amazing. Although many people would disagree, I actually like Propaganda. Pressure and The Dark Side are ... read more

Fall Out Boy - M A N I A
35

There’s a reason this is the only album on the site to have the tag bad music. I really enjoy two of the songs on this album, but the rest is pretty garbage. This is the only Fall Out Boy album i’d rate less than a 65/100, it’s obviously their weakest “effort” yet. I’m not even sure if I can call it an effort. I struggle making it halfway into the album.

Favourite Tracks: Wilson, Last Of The Real Ones, Bishops Knife Trick

Least Favourite Track: ... read more

Panic! at the Disco - Pray for the Wicked
60

This album isn’t great, but it’s certainly listenable. There are some amazing songs on it, but the majority is just mediocre or sometimes bad. Hey Look Ma, I Made It just sounds like a generic pop song, and I’m really glad that High Hopes was the one that went big instead.

Favourite Tracks: High Hopes, Say Amen, King Of The Clouds

Least Favourite Track: Roaring 20s

Panic! at the Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
85

This album is good if you just skip Nails For Breakfast, Tacks For Snacks. It can kinda ruin most songs that come after it, so if you take this advice you might like the album more.

Favourite Tracks: Build God Then We’ll Talk, I Write Sins Not Tragedies, I Constantly Thank God For Estaban

Least Favourite Track: Nails For Breakfast Tacks For Snacks

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
100

This is one of my favourite albums of all time. There’s just something so goddamn grand and beautiful about it. If I go a month or more without listening to it, and then I come back to it, I get chills and feel like I’m experiencing this amazing record for the first time all over again. The concept is pulled off almost perfectly.

Favourite Tracks: Sleep, Mama, Welcome To The Black Parade

Least Favourite Track: Disenchanted

On Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
"I don’t believe I’ll ever grow tired of this album, and truthfully it gets better with every listen. There’s just so much to unfold, and some mysteries that will never be solved (like the ending of I Was A Prisoner In Your Skull of course). A truly terrifyingly beautiful experience that is a must listen for all post-rock fans."
On Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
"This album is certainly the only masterpiece that I’ve come across so far in Swans’ career, and I can certainly see why they chose to make this album before they broke up, as it seems very final. The melding of genres throughout here not only shows Swans being ambitious, and mastering everything they do, but also shows Swans wanting to try out so many things as a last hurrah before they go out. This certainly showcases Jarboe’s best performances, as well as some of Michael’s."

I still haven’t listened to Dos in full and I haven’t listened to Tré at all tho, but they get loads of hate so I’m not planning on listening to them soon."
