I feel some of the low scores are being too harsh on this, but if you seriously give this anything more than a 70, you need to re-evaluate your music tastes. This is definitely a pretty big step up from Pacific Daydream, which isn’t saying much except that it has good songs. The singles (except for Living In L.A.) mainly take the cake on this one, some of the others are just not up to the same standard, and then there’s a few songs that I feel like I’ve heard so many times ... read more
Because of the imminent release of the Black Album, I thought I’d come back and review this one. This is a really good album, and I didn’t even suspect to like it before listening to it. It’s not as good as Weezer’s first two albums of course, but there’s some fun songwriting from Rivers, and even though it incorporates some cliches, it’s done really well, and it really shows how unique his writing is. The instrumentation is really good on most songs, ... read more
My god. I’ve done it. I’ve found an album worse than Fall Out Boy’s Mania. Maybe not as disappointing, but it is far worse. I didn’t think I’d ever be in another situation where a band I like make something as bad as this. At least with Mania there was two great tracks. On this, there is not a single good track. There are just mediocre and terrible ones. Why on earth did they decide to include those “oo-wee-oo”s on the chorus of Mexican Fender. And the ... read more
Why are people reviewing this as if it’s not ironic. It’s a meme for god’s sake.
This seems like a good album, but I really don’t think this caught my attention the same way that it did with a lot of other people here. There’s a few songs that just didn’t really do it for me, but some songs were absolutely amazing. I really liked the thing they did in The View From The Afternoon, where you thought it had ended but it slowly came back, and the way he says “ruckus” is just oddly brilliant. Overall it’s a pretty fun dance punk album, with ... read more
This seems to be Arcade Fire’s most ambitious album since their debut, but it just doesn’t sound as good as their last 3 records. It might be trying to incorporate some foreign musical styles, and some dance elements, and most of the time this works, but sometimes it doesn’t really feel right. There’s no doubt that it’s very creative, and songs like Reflektor or Afterlife really stand out as some of the best moments. I can’t really say much bad about it, ... read more

SO WHY DON’T YOU WRITE A REVIEW?
Not as good as Joy, but damn, it’s so good that I’m gonna give it the same score as Joy.
Favourite Tracks: Mother, Heel/Heal, Well Done
Least Favourite Track: Divide & Conquer
This certainly lives up to the hype. It’s an amazing, well constructed album that is experimental, but still quite accessible, and I’d highly recommend it to anybody reading this. It isn’t the best Radiohead album I’ve listened to so far (that would be OK Computer, and it’s hard to beat), but it’s still absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The electronics at the start of 15 Step hook you in the way lots of Radiohead instrumentals do, and that weird ... read more
“Hey, it isn’t that bad”, I say while desperately trying to cling onto the belief that this album is mostly a joke.
Favourite Tracks: Pork And Beans, The Greatest Man That Ever Lived, Troublemaker
Least Favourite Track: Cold Dark World
I’ve never really been a fan of trap rap, and I definitely wasn’t a fan of this the first time I listened, but I came back because of Clout Cobain, which I’ve always liked, and the second listen made me like it a bit more, and now I just find it amazing. Taboo is a great opener to the album, though it seems quite dark, and doesn’t really belong on the light side of the album, and works really well leading into Black Balloons. Black Balloons is a song that you can just ... read more
The first time I listened to this I couldn’t really see myself getting into it, but it sure as hell stood out, so of course I came back to it. And, DAMN, did this keep growing on me with every listen. I went from hating Joe Talbot’s vocals to falling for them hard. Colossus is quite a ride which goes from 10 to 0 to 100 really quickly. The pure aggression on the song Never Fight A Man With A Perm works really well with the intended subject of toxic masculinity, and I can actually ... read more
My favourite of twenty one pilots album by far. The lyrical themes are sometimes hard-hitting, but delivered in such an amazingly happy manner, quite similar to Paramore’s After Laughter (tho I think Paramore did that part a bit better), and this works really well. Holding On To You is my favourite tøp song, hands down, and Migraine has one of the best raps on any tøp song. Ode To Sleep is a great opener with those electronics at the start, and Truce, a pretty emotional ... read more
For the longest time I couldn’t really get into this record, and would’ve given it a 65, but my last two listens of it have changed my opinion drastically. I already liked most of the songs on this album, but now every song sounds better than I thought before. I never really could get into I Miss You, and I can’t stop playing Violence, a song I absolutely hated before. I think I just finally realised that such a sudden change in sound between this and their previous albums ... read more
It’s really not a good thing that I was glad when this album was over. I’ve never listened to Bring Me The Horizon before, but I don’t think I will after this. There was some good parts in it. I liked Mantra. A lot of songs were OK for the majority, but just had parts that were really bad and could’ve been done without. The attempt at implementation of pop doesn’t really succeed that well. It was just a very underwhelming experience seeing as I’d heard good ... read more
Yo this is weird. I’d say that I might like this less if I had listened to any other Arctic Monkeys album before this, but I haven’t. So for me, it’s not a sudden change, it’s just a nice album. Nothing absolutely spectacular, but still really good. Some of the tracks are really fun and on most tracks the instrumentals are amazing. The vocals are really good but quite strange. It’s probably one of few albums that I could say is charming. I’m not exactly sure ... read more
I miss Fall Out Boy.
Favourite Tracks: Dance Dance, Sophomore Slump Or Comeback Of The Year, Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying
Least Favourite Track: A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More “Touch Me”
I probably would’ve liked this more if I hadn’t heard any of their previous stuff. It’s good but it doesn’t hold a candle to any of those. It just doesn’t sound like Blink-182. Even their self-titled still sounded like it was them, and it was so different from all their other records.
Favourite Tracks: Ghost On The Dance Floor, Up All Night, Wishing Well
Least Favourite Track: This Is Home
About as good as Humanz in my opinion. I can’t seem to decide which is better. It’s nowhere near as good as Demon Days or self-titled, but it’s still a good listen. It’s quite calm and is more of a summer-time album. Humility and Tranz are amazing. Those two and Hollywood are the only songs that really stand out. The others just... exist, I guess.
