Yep, this sounds like a Drake album. It’s clear Drake cannot get over any beef he has with anyone. Lyrically, it’s corny as hell. There are a couple great bangers like Whisper My Name or National Treasures that both have laughable moments in a bad way. “Ironic ’cause the Iceman was a nice man” will be memed for the rest of the year. Legit fits in with all those AI songs (all snubbed from the album btw). Also this would be a perfect 10 if Adin Ross wasn’t ... read more
with how much heat peggy has thrown himself into lately, this should not have been such a letdown. great production as always, a few tracks saved by the fire beats, but peggy did them no justice. I’ll relisten a couple more times this weekend with a fresh mind as the heat hopefully cools down. charlie charlie kirky.
“but but but this is music for the hoessss you wouldn’t understand!”
okay it’s still garbage
easily the worst collection of “songs” that Drake has put out. It’s so obvious Drake doesn’t care about the quality of his music and will just keep overstuffing his fans with slop since they’ll eat up anything associated with him. I wasn’t expecting much yet I was still disappointed.
Disc 1: mostly good with some okay Drake performances and solid beats, but it just felt a bit empty in places. Tracks such as Survival, Nonstop or Gods Plan are heat but by the end of the disc I was getting a bit bored. Hopefully disc 2 will have some heat as well.
Disc 2: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzNICE FOR WHATzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Honestly have no standouts on this one, just a mix of solid and mid tracks
Some of Drake’s best work that has really held up to this day. The beats still go crazy and the flows make current Drake weep. I highly doubt Iceman will have anything to the level of Know Yourself or Jungle or Energy, but let’s hope he proves me wrong.
Pure classic Drake. Rarely are both an albums first and last tracks top tier classics, but that’s exactly what NWTS has. Though there are some hiccups (especially 305 to my city), I’d say this holds up as a classic Drake album. Not to mention the perfect late night R&B classic (Hold on we’re going home)
One of the most creative albums of all time. Some of the greatest production I’ve heard. Every track here tells the story so well. Multiple tracks I’d consider to be some of my favorites of all time, including I THINK and GONE GONE / THANK YOU. Easily Tyler’s best album and a great close to the last good decade.
I’ve always preferred Channel Orange to Blond. Both are incredible near perfect projects, but this one just has so many styles nailed perfectly. Frank’s vocals and lyricism are top notch. So many tracks on here that I’d have no problem with someone saying it’s their favorite of the 2010’s. Pyramids, Super Rich Kids, Lost, Pink Matter. Hell, I think Sierra Leone is super underrated. Please come back Frank
A very safe and mellow R&B project that isn’t bad, but it’s just not interesting in the slightest for the most part. There’s been worse from Jack Harlow, so maybe this change of style can work.
not the worst thing in the world (well maybe wongtong soup is) but WAYYYY too repetitive to enjoy as an album. It’s like I’m listening to the same thing on repeat with minimal emotion felt.
