First record I have heard by Stone Temple Pilots (shoutout Bob The Poppop for the recommendation!), and I was impressed! One of my favorite grunge albums that I have listened too, and a lot of the songs on here are incredible alone as well, not just with full listen throughs. Impressive record and will definitely be checking out more of their stuff.
Run time really lets this one down, if it were condensed it could easily be a perfect album. Love his flow and style, beats are amazing. Classic west coast sound. RIP Pac.
Songs without Madlib or Conductor are poorly mixed and don't sound great, but lyrically Westside Gunn delivers. Decent tape.
Update: yeaaaa this tape is so overlooked in WSG's discog. Great atmosphere and feeling throughout. Really grown on me.
Well damn. This sounded incredible. Seemed like all Logic needed was a step back to reset and hone in on what he wanted to create rather than attempting to appeal to the pop sound. This is incredible. Obviously 6ix on production killed this project, and he seriously needs to be considered in some Top 5 conversations. Feature selection was also great on here, and Logic managed to avoid cringeworthy lines throughout, sounding like the old YS logic. On top of this, the skits were funny and nice ... read more
Don't really see the crazy amount of hate being justified on this one. Sure, it isn't a breathtaking project and it isn't Drake's best, but for what it is it is executed fairly well and my only issue with the project is the lack of diversity. Nice music to play in the background though, and I can't see myself disliking it more than CLB.
DOOM sample on the first track caught me off and hooked me. Second track held steady and kept my attention but the third track wasn't near as good as the first two. Tears, the final track grabbed me back a bit but Extra and Help Me God are my favorite two. Still cool too see CyHi dropping in 2022 though.
Incredible project, gets better with every listen. Upon hearing this project the first time I was left stunned, but impressed with the production especially. However, as I listen more and the narrative and inclusion of Kodak as a feature makes more sense, I only gain more respect for the ambition and message of the album.

First album I have ever recorded my reaction to, so it'll always hold a place. But as for the album, this thing is a super easy listen, and a great intro to hip-hop if I am honest. The way DJ Premier crafts the beats keeps them interesting from front to back, with enough variety to make each one hit just as hard as the last one. And as for Guru, his rhyme schemes and subject matter are performed very well, easily understandable and fun to dive into. Features are picked and placed well, and also ... read more
This tape has revolutionized my view of Future. I see it now. Sure, he may not have the bars or the flow, but the atmosphere that he creates on these tracks is unmatched. Although this may not be the most deep and inspiring music, purely based on the sound and the way that he carried himself on these collection of tracks, this is one of my favorite drops so far this year. I gotta check out some more Future projects, because in the past they havent resonated with me but this one is hitting. ... read more
Shoutout A.D. Blanco. Growth shown on this project for sure and I am excited to see where the next full length LP takes them.
Damn. Remember listening to this when it came out and being so damn excited about pop smoke. RIP.
Man I am glad Tyler beat the first week sales bc this album was horrible. Also Khaled mad = funny.
man we need new KA, now that BH broke up maybe it will come. he is a fantastic artist.
a few years on now, i just remember being so excited for this drop and leaving feeling empty handed. with more listens it is decent but not one to remember for Zacari.
Nostalgia exemplified in sonic form. God damn this soundtrack is beautiful.
