I think every song individually is great, and doom spits absolute poetry like always. But there's not really any in-song beat-switches or choruses which makes it a kinda boring listen after a while. That's not to say it isn't a great album though.
This has some great moments, but Macs vocals just sound so whiny. That's the only thing bothering me, but the production and rapping are great.
Kanye, I don't think this is all it takes to get to heaven. I will however thank you for sparing us by making this album so short.
I like Ye getting personal with his albums, he has some great lyrics on here. But that gets paired up with some dogshit lyrics as well.
The album is decent as a whole, but the second half is just superior to the first, and there are clear highlights.
Best track: Ghost Town
Worst track: All Mine
For my 100th review, I decided to review the best and most iconic video game soundtrack in history.
Trying to be as unbiased as possible, this soundtrack is a goddamn masterpiece. Not only is this a perfect soundtrack for the game, it's also just a great album in general.
I'm honestly surprised that C418 wasn't a big artist before Minecraft. He finds sounds that I've never really heard in an album, let alone a soundtrack.
I don't regularly listen to jazz, but this is just so lavish and immersive, I love it.
This album is a whole fever dream.
There's great lyricism,
There's terrible lyricism,
There's a stacked hidden feature list,
There's weird interludes,
Etc.(I could genuinely go all day)
Despite some annoying parts, I like how experimental and unpredictable this album is.
We're talking about arguably the two Greatest rappers at the time, and one of the best producers of all time here...
What am I not getting about this album? Like, I really want to enjoy this, but seriously what is so genius and raw about this. I also don't know who that "Yeah boi" guy is, but he is absolutely insufferable.
The absolute peak of Michaels artistry. Great production, powerful lyricism, and so many bangers.
