There is harmony in chaos, and there is chaos in harmony. This album represents both. I love how all the instruments and shoegazey effects blend together.
I enjoyed this. Just some catchy little psychedelic pop tunes that you could listen to once in a while. 85/100
Everything that should have been said about this album has already been said. Amazing!
I didnt like this a few years ago but it grew on me. I think its a great album and it influenced every mumble rapper that exists today. I like Cudis hummed vocals and all the songs are really catchy and the instrumentals are interesting, although they could have been a bit better produced. The features that are on here aren't too great but i got used to them. Overall a nice experience in my book.
This is definetely an interesting album with many unique ideas and i get the hype but i think it got a bit boring in the second half. Still, its a good combination of experimental and catchy and some of the songs are absulute bangers. If a few songs were cut from the second half it would be at least a 95, but as it is, i cant give it more than 90.
such a classic! those soft vocals over those dreamy guitar riffs make this an excellent psychedelic/shoegaze album and i think it really shows what the genre is capable of.
Amazing!
I believe this is his second best project behind LiveLoveASAP. The production is often dreamy and it gives a nostalgic vibe, something that i love in hip hop albums. The lyrics are the best out of every one of his records, often even having some story telling elements. Some features were weird and unnecessary, especially Future and MIA on Fine Whine, but others were well executed, for example Bones, which unexpectedly really fit the song.

This is my favourite album of all time. I love every moment of it. Pure energy.
The albums starts out as pure thrash metal with the track Fight Fire With Fire. Alhough its a good song, i think its the weakest on the album. The riffs, as energetic as they are, seem a bit boring in my opinion.
The second track is the title song, Ride The Lightning has some of the best riffs and the best solo on the album. The chorus is catchy and the lyrics are among the most interesting on this project.

I loved this album and regret that i didnt give it a try earlier. I have wrongfully thought about it as just another pop record, but its truly more than that.
I felt that the songs got more and more melancholic towards the middle of the album, and then slowly worked its way to a quite happy ending which quite literally made it a rollercoaster of emotions.
The production ,the singing and the songwriting were great and its hard to believe that they all were done by the same person. The lyrics ... read more
