This is almost complete. Even with the copyright and sample clearance issues this album is still spectacular. He’s is always reinventing himself, and this album is no exception. Having a much more accessible sound, but still keeping it Experimental, which is awesome. One of the best Rap albums of the decade so far.
Here in this album, Kendrick takes a few steps back on production, but the lyrical content lingers. Honestly I felt a bit disappointed on first listen, but eventually it grew on me. Amazing follow up from his debut album. The story about his ups and downs during life in Compton is awesome. The features are also a crucial part to this album as they pay homage to West Coast Hip-Hop. Overall zero to little complaints about this one
This is where Kendrick started. Overall pretty awesome debut album. The production is still pretty good and shows that Kendrick is a star stellar west coast rapper
