Sunny, tropical haze compressed into 34 minutes long release. Great summer album.
Great overview of everything that Jorge Elbrecht's been up to so far.
First half - synthpop songs bringing to mind bands like Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode, while songs from the second half are more guitar oriented, ranging from Jangle Pop to pseudo-Black Metal.
Just a collection of really great songs.
Great Power Pop record with that distinct feeling of early 90s albums.
Melodic power-pop songs in the vein of Big Star intertwine with melancholy and darker tracks (the second half of the record, which becomes the better side of the album with each listen)
At this point it can be probably considered a classic indie rock record, on par with Wilco's, Decemberists' or Iron&Wine's best releases. Haven't listened to it for a veeeery long time, which turns out to be a big mistake.
Very much the lost masterpiece everyone makes it to be. Way more ambitious than Pet Sounds but still has a lot of great, catchy melodies. Really makes you wonder what would happen if it was released when it was supposed to.
