While it is great, it is clearly shorter and less ambitious than what they were going to do in the future
Old people music that’s really fun and insanely well produced. Even today. There’s really not much to it but everything for me just clicks really well and makes for an experience that is both really fun and really well made
This album is weird and confusing and sounds like an alien made it but it’s something that will never be replicated in my mind. Its unique sound really shines here and it sounds awesome. I can’t really hear the singer and sometimes I wish the album would just slow down just a little bit but that’s really it
This album is really really interesting to me. I love how open mac is with how he feels mentally. It made the world a better place. The production is really moody and atmospheric. Which really enhances what he’s saying. I’m not in love with Mac as a rapper or singer but I love him as a songwriter. I don’t know how people call this boring. It’s really interesting and I’m glad I checked it out
Boringly good. Cole barely takes any risks on here he just plays the hits. Some of them are good but most songs are really devoid of anything interesting
A pretty album with some darker songwriting aspects that mesh very well. The singing is a bit hit or miss for me and the production is very very stretched out leading to moments feeling empty a lot but when this album gets pretty, it gets pretty
I’ll try to start and hopefully I’ll stop at some point
This album is phenomenal to me. I’ve been listening to an album every single day. And recently, I haven’t really found anything I’ve fallen in love with this month. All have been albums that are good. But nothing that really stood head and heels above the competition. Until today. This album is beautiful in every sense that an album can. The relationship between these two singers is so sad and powerful but so ... read more
Jack of all trades, master of none
This album to me feels really weird. I like its ideas and soundscapes enough. But I’m not really sure what it’s trying to do. It feels too upbeat to be ambient but too downtempo to be danceable it’s strange. It’s aimless and atmospheric like ambient but repetitive and peppy like dance music. It’s still decent and a good enough ambient idm type album. But nothing that blew me away
What a great introduction to injury reserve. With this cool, jazzy, psychedelic soundscape coupled with excellent rapping and lyrics. Sometimes it can feel a little too bland for somebody like me but other times the puzzle pieces just come together in a way that’s really special. It’s really no surprise that they took off after this mixtape. It’s something special
A pretty good album from Tyler. Some songs feel just like filler with barebones boring production but I think this was the first instance of Tyler really coming into his own. Especially on a song like answer that song is real damn good. Obviously some lyrical content has aged horribly but that’s early Tyler for you. Not to justify it it still sucks but I just expected it. But overall, this album is pretty good and I enjoyed my time with it, but not all the time
I would like to apologize to all the insufferable people because this albums actually really fucking good
While this album is very very well made, it’s something that I wasn’t really personally invested in and don’t see myself coming back to that often. It’s great, mind you. It’s just not for me really
One of the best songs of the year. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for by storm
It was fine I guess. Didn’t really get a lot out of me but it sounded cool sometimes
Man. What an album. This album is so razor sharp in what it wants to be and say and it’s beautiful. Combining post rock with Midwest emo is something that I didn’t know could sound good. But here we are. The vocals are passionate and boyish, which is what I want from a Midwest emo release. Whereas the instrumentation is grand and ever changing. Like the best of post rock. It’s an amazing combination that is both soul crushing but also strangely uplifting to a certain degree. ... read more
This is artistry in its realest, rawest form. And it’s beautiful to see and experience every bit of this gorgeous album
The flows on here are mind boggling to me. They’re so cool and on point for every song and makes what JID says even cooler to me. The hooks hit and the production goes hard pretty much the whole time. This is a great album to me and I will definitely check out more of JID’s catalog after hearing this masterclass
My first impressions of this album are very weird. The first half is quite solid, but easily has the lowest lows of the album. Where as the second part kinda plays it a little safe in my opinion but has way better highlights. I will need to come back to this album at some point but I will be looking forward to it because I really did enjoy it on first listen
Weird production but I oddly enjoy it. Travis isn’t as lazy here than he was on k-pop but his performance still wasn’t great or memorable. Beyoncé holds her own on here
