This thing is just brutal. From the first second to the last everything is just so dark and without hope. It makes sense that Dan Barrett was behind this project. The snares have not changed a bit. But this thing can also be kind of long winded and I could not hear what Dan was saying at all. It just builds such a memorable soundscape that doesn’t let up for a whole hour I love it
What a catchy, well sung, well produced, well paced album that throws so much catchy J-pop and rock at you. Haru is something special
This album is beautiful. From the lush production to all of the vocalists. The poetry is also really touching and beautiful. Still loving the country you live in even through all the shit that they’ve done is something I could never really do and PJ Harvey does this with flying colours.
An album that’s brimming with life, wit, and charm at every turn this album is so fun. I love cat’s infectious vocals and supreme baselines. The jazzy instrumentals also complement his vocals and bass playing. I like how he’s sort of a nerd managing to find this much success that’s beautiful. I love a lot about this album and I’ll definitely be back for more
I felt fully immersed in this world that black kray has built. It feels so floaty and ethereal I love it. The production is so cool and definitely has the highest highs on the album. Where as kray as a rapper is pretty decent. He doesn’t really steal the show and his voice is either mixed pretty quietly or kinda harsh. But disregarding all that this album is still a masterful world builder in my opinion
A really bright and fun indie pop album with some incredible highlights poking out. The singing is very charming and so are the lyrics. Overall, I had a lovely time with this release
This is the most cashgrabby thing I’ve ever heard but the song itself is pretty decent I like the drums but the weeknd was kinda cringe
(Edit: 70–>57) In terms of the album this is a weird left turn that makes zero sense due to how much momentum was ramping up. But also, Travis’s performance also really stuck out to me as really mind numbing and not interesting
The guitar playing from Wes is really something special
Very great album. Great singing and the songwriting on here is really sweet and made me feel really at ease I guess. Wish it was longer and produced a bit more originally but those are my only real complaints
This is just sad Bart Simpson core for people who make fun of people for using sad Bart Simpson images.
This album is kind of weird to me. Because it is produced pretty decently and it is decently catchy. But the lyrics on here are really corny and annoying. I don’t even care that the songs are about sex. You can write about anything and make it interesting. But they really don’t do anything interesting with these themes. So it just comes off as corny and wanting to be taken ... read more
Kind of a slog of an album that is wonderfully produced. The production honestly does a lot of heavy lifting for this album because I don’t like how Donald raps here. There’s some decent flows but a lot of the time he sounds like he’s Lin-Manuel Miranda. The guests are cool though
The album art might throw some people off of this album because it’s not really that dark sounding in my opinion. But it’s still a great post rocker. Everything here sounds great and the pacing on here is rock solid. Being mainly split up into three cores each with each having its own identity. The mixing on here is weird though I felt like I always had to adjust the volume because the quiet transitional moments are so much quieter than the actual payoffs you are rewarded with. I ... read more
It was fine I guess
First off, the drums on here don’t sound good. I don’t know who programmed them but they always sounded too artificial and didn’t have enough impact. Other than that the production wasn’t really anything of note. The vocal samples are cool I guess but that’s all I really got out of it. Kinda like how I didn’t really feel anything from drake as a rapper and singer. Came off to me as pretty corny on pretty much every song. Even hold on, ... read more
A really laid back and chill album on the surface at times. But others, it gets way more heavy in how it’s written and performed. Archie’s vocals scream passionate to me. Sometimes the album does feel a bit too empty and lacking in substance and Archie’s voice can be a bit too much but it’s clear that this is a sort of passion project from him. And I enjoyed it quite a bit
An album brimming with charm at every point. The production is fire throughout using a lot of great samples. Based god kills it on a lot of these songs. Sometimes he’s a forgettable presence but most times he kills it. His lyricism is so charming to see. He’s just having a fun time and appreciating everything he had. Which is awesome
A very jack of all trades type album. It does everything well, but not exceptionally. Lana sings well, these songs are well paced, well produced, and well written. But for me, it didn’t really go above and beyond. It’s just a good singer songwriter album in my opinion
With the terrible lifeless cover art, I thought I’d be in for something that shows no identity or charm. Was I right? No. But is this thing good? No, not really. The performances are good throughout most the album. Everybody is giving it their all. But this thing to me is just lyrically terrible and the album does get very repetitive very quickly. There’s not a lot of new ideas emerging from this thing at every corner. Also one song here just literally sounds like a falling in ... read more
A wildly inventive pop and rnb album that still has a lot of fun, upbeat bangers. Sometimes it does get a little too much for me but this album has so many amazing pop songs on it with an amazing glitch hook that always drags me back in
