Can't believe last night went from listening to the first half of this to Jim. E Brown and discovering whatever the fuck Anal Cunt was.
Anyway listening to this properly this morning was amazing, deserves so much higher of a rating but maybe just cut off the last 7 songs
The first half of the album was really good but my friends kept complaining so will have to listen again on my own. The 2nd half definitely dragged though
This album may not have needed more songs but they're still incredible. Don't want to rate as I don't want it on the top of 2026 as it's a 2025 album
This album offers a lot musically but the way the music develops often mean I disengage from the music due to the repeated beats, glitchy weird noise and long runtime. I may have liked this more if I was a fan of the genre and it definitely warrants relistens to see how my opinion changes
Edit: Yeah this feels like a 65. If I was a bigger fan of the genre it would definitely be higher it's just not to my personal taste.
Listen #1: 65 - No idea how to rate this as I really enjoyed the first few songs and then the rest weren't bad but didn't stand out. Definitely needs a couple of relistens for a more consolidated rating
Listen #2: 60
Listen #1 (and hopefully only listen): 5 - Never listened to Megadeth and now never want to listen to them again. I never rate albums preemptively but I'm the 3rd track and I doubt it's going to get better (in fact this rating may lower in a bit).
Update: Finished it and it got worse
Listen #1: 90 - I absolutely adore this album and could so easily go to 100 with time. Every song is just beautiful and catchy and while it's not the most unique or genre-changing thing in the world does it matter when the music is this good? Really hope they get bigger.
Listen #2: 95
Listen #3: Fuck it make it 100
Listen #4: Still love it but may have got a bit enthusiastic especially when compared to my other 100s
Listen #1: 75 - Had a really fun time with this one. It was just in the background so will have to relisten to get my full thoughts.
Listen #2: 65
Listen #1: 70. While still impressive with standout tracks and beautiful atmosphere and arrangement throughout, I can't help but feel like this is a step down both with being lyrically much worse and thematically repetitive to the last one. There are still some beautiful songs but compared to her last album which is one of the best of the 60s, I'm just slightly disapointed.
Listen #2: 60
