I found this album just recently - I can't stop repeating it. A strong concept album about the dissolution of a relationship, cleverly told from both sides, with the first half dedicated to the woman falling out of love and the second half showing the man realizing it's his fault but being unwilling to change, surrendering to the inevitable phases and stages we all encounter in life.
Next time you find yourself in the American southwest and feel that sense of isolation, put this one on.
2 + 3 = 4? Takes the aggressive production of RTJ2, adds the directly political messages of 3, resulting in a really strong album.
This remix definitely helps save Tim from the weaker production on the original mix - I'm inclined to say this is the best Replacements album (sorry Let It Be!).
I'm not sure what I can say that hasn't already been said. This album is so beautiful and flows incredibly well; it's a shame that many of the problems mentioned here still resonate over 50 years later.
