Big K.R.I.T. - 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time
65

Starts extremely strong but fails to keep going imo. Some bangers tho and i still appreciate it

Villagers - Fever Dreams
75

Very unique atmosphere, i dig it a lot. You gotta respect the uniqueness. Looking forward to other records from these guys.

Sweet Trip - Velocity : Design : Comfort.
70

This is definitly very unique and i really like it. Still feels like there is moments in the meat of the album that don't grab my attention as much.

Behemoth - The Satanist
95

I'm not that much into black metal or death and this was my introduction. It's so dark, the riffs go hard af and the vocal performance is one of the best part of the project even tho it was the thing that prevented me from listening to this kind of metal in the first place. You gotta love it, i suggest you try it even if you're not into this kind of metal it was intimidating but it's darkness is intriguing, and one of the main reasons i came back to this was to experience it again, it's such a ... read more

Denzel Curry - TA13OO

So catchy and easy to listen to, but it also goes hard and has meaning. The hooks Always hit somehow. Love it.

Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
95

My favorite album when i was younger. So yeah i'm definitly biased. But you can't tell me songs like Giorgio or Touch aren't fucking masterpieces, also instant crush personal favorite. I can't find a song i dislike in this album actually. This shit makes me proud to be french that's how good it is

Kanye West - Late Registration
95

So fucking smooth.

Kanye West - The College Dropout
80

Incredible iconic album. It has some of Kanye West's best and is started the formula that he'll perfect in late registration (is best imo). Yeah it's great. You don't get much better than jesus walks, there's some song that i like less like New Workout Plan or the Jay-Z feature, but the highs are incredibly high and this is definitly a must listen. Those gospel samples make me feel things. Hate Kanye tho.

JID - The Forever Story (Extended)
100

aight time for a real review.
2007 is actually song of 2022 imo so the fact it was cleared and added to this album which was already a 100 imo is just the icing on the cake.
Everything in this album is as good as it could be. JID goes hard af he is in top form, with some crazy lyricism and wordplay throughout the whole album. He might be the best rapper alive in term of technical ability. Now what surprised me the most is the singing on this album idk how he managed to pull that off but JID can ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - IGOR
80

Really good concept album, it's definitly unique on how it sounds kind of low-fi, purposefully amateur, with it's flawed mixing, particular singing (it takes a bit to get used to) and simplistic, sometimes childish writing that let us interpret the story of igor. I feel like i need to do a bigger review to do this album justice so imma come back to this when i get time

Wire - Pink Flag
90

This is near perfect to me.
All the tracks are little ideas, that all last less than 2-3 minutes, a bit like madvillainy in a way.
With a very limited set of instruments, pink flag manages to be very diverse, and not one dimensional which is imo the major downfall of some contemporary punk artist. Every riff is insane and the album flow is flawless.

Paris Texas - MID AIR
50

I found this album pretty mid all the way through, some good moments and ideas mostly mid without being offensive. Since user score is so high i'll revisit it but i really don't see what's that good about it.
Edit : i still don't see it. Glad you guys enjoy it though.

Travis Scott - UTOPIA
69

I have mixed feelings about Utopia.
This album has to be placed in the context of Travis Scott being a terrible human being. That means that I can't really get attached to his personality or put value in his lyrics. As a result this album feels empty. Good albums leave an impression. I like Conway's personality, his struggle, i like the societal issues expressed in Kendrick Lamar's albums for example. I get nothing out of this album after i listened to it. It's a very pretty, expensive empty ... read more

Travis Scott - Rodeo
90

That's a good ass album.
The production is consistently strong, the vibe works and the features are all pretty good (even Justin Bieber wtf).
Maybe i'll change the score after some more listens.
edit : 85 -> 90 its only growing on me

JPEGMAFIA - LP! (Offline Version)
100

Yeah this is one of my favorite album. Just bangers into bangers into bangers. It's a wild ride, the beats are wild but still incredibly catchy despite being so lo-fi and weird, the rapping has so much energy to it, but the less aggressive moments like "what kind of rappin is this" also hit.
Hazard duty pay is one of my favorite songs ever definitly.
I'm also personaly attached to this album as it was my introduction to more left field underground hip-hop, shit like Danny Brown and ... read more

JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES
95

Scaring the hoes is a really cool album, you can FEEL that those two are good friends i love it.
The beats are wild as expected and Danny Brown's rapping matches them perfectly.
Unfortunatly this album doesn't carry as much replay value as i would like it too and is, to me, worse than lp(offline)! (one of my favorite album ever btw). Still an amazing album you should listen to NOW

Talking Heads - Remain in Light
95

THE GROOVES
THE PERFORMANCES
THE VOCAL MELODIES
this is really really good and i don't have that much to say about it. It's just so well done.

Drake - Honestly, Nevermind
30

There aint much to this. It's so long too. I like Jimmy Cooks though. I won't make a better analysis than this as i didn't feel there was anything interesting in this project, so i only listened to it once. it's not offensive (except the bed squeaking song oh my god) but i almost would have prefered if it was. Instead it's just boring.

Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf
100

First album i'm rating
This is just so much fun, some of the best production i've ever heard on any rock album. Extremely diverse but somehow every hook hits.
I guess you could say the skits are tiring after multiple listens but i like the concept and i love how they transition into the actual song, on the opener but also on other songs like six shooter. Yeah this album is crazy good

"Like i said i didn't feel that strongly about the music itself. Didn't replay it in a while too. I think 70 is a fair score if we're only talking about the music."
On Elliott Smith - Figure 8
"I feel pretty much the same now. Xo and this album are my favorites but everything he made is worth listening to."
