We should create a new religion based on worshipping Sampha, his voice shall be our bible!
Anyways, wow... this is beautiful. I was anticipating this album for weeks and it was very much worth the wait. It's really hard to explain how I feel about this project and it's not for a bad reason or anything, it's just a lot to take in.
I really enjoyed the structuring of every song; Every song was unique and pretty. Sampha's voice is so beautiful, I am and always will be in love with his voice. ... read more
the best work earl's put out since srs. i've had this on repeat ever since it came out on streaming platforms, lots of replay value. the sample choices on this project are great, each beat is very catered towards earl's monotone delivery. this project really keeps you on your toes, and earl has a great flow on every song. sentry had a really cool verse by MIKE, great delivery and cadence. the soundscapes on this project were nice, very atmospheric. only thing i can sort of complain about is ... read more
Incredible! Armand Hammer has an amazing cast of producers on this project. Stellar production and great rapping (although, of course, I can't catch everything on first listen so I'll have to listen to this album more than once to understand the lyrics better.)
Favorite track: I Keep A Mirror In My Pocket
Least favorite: The Flexible Unreliability Of Time & Memory
With Sampha's new album being announced, I thought it would be a good time to get into his music. I've heard about this guy from time to time I.E. Kendrick's track Father Time and Travis' track MY EYES. Although I was never familiar with his music, I was always attracted to his voice. It's uniquely his: Soft, beautiful, and wielding of the ability to tug at your heart strings. But, going into Process, I had close-to-zero prior experience. On first listen, I practically had this project playing ... read more
On first listen, this is fucking incredible. Time FLEW BY while listening to this album. It was such a fun listen! Every song felt so fleshed out. It's got to be hard to not like this album. Even the skits were enjoyable! Most skits on most albums are, of course, cheesy. But the skits on here are well acted out and you can actually tell what's happening! So far, my favorite song on here is probably "Drunk*". That's another thing about this project; The production is on another fucking ... read more
Fun album to listen to! All the beats were pleasant and Amine flowed on everything. Good summer album!
I'm kind of biased reviewing this because I used to listen to Juice A LOT, so naturally his sound appeals to me more. Overall, this project is pretty good. Empty, for one, is actually incredible I won't even lie. It has a catchy ass sound and Juice's delivery is solid. But there are the songs I don't like as much... Such as "Ring Ring". I won't lie, the guitar riff on the song is cool, but there's just something about it that doesn't appeal to me as much as the other songs. So yeah, ... read more
This album is absolutely incredible. It's warm, fuzzy, pretty, and comforting. It never fails to calm me down, and I have a feeling many others have the same experience with this album. There's so many great things to highlight with the album; "Where This Flower Blooms" is extremely pretty and warm. Everything from the piano to the drum beat is perfect. Frank's contribution to the track isn't useless either, it's awesome. Overall, this album has so many highlights to the point where I ... read more
Mr. Krabs and his crew are shitting on all your favorite rappers
Okay, first off... This project is MESSY. But, it's messy in the best way possible. First listen, I had no idea what was going on. But after a good few re-listens I can say for sure that this project is incredible. It's innovative, aggressive, and SO fucking fun. This album is so worth listening to. This project is absolutely incredible.
A classic rap album. This album comes to my mind whenever people ask about the "Best Rap Albums of All-Time". There's absolutely nothing on this album that I can complain about, it's just flawless. The production, holy SHIT! The production is absolutely AMAZING! Already from the start, "Heard 'Em Say" brings you in like fillings to a magnet. The piano riff on this song is beautifully chopped. And, Kanye's lyricism on this track is just so raw and honest. It really feels like ... read more
There's not a single thing I can say about this album that hasn't been said already. Everything about this project is just perfect. It's two amazing artists both in their prime, having fun and making music. Madlib's production is as amazing as it always is, and DOOM's lyricism on this project is quotable in every sense. Every. Single. Line. Can be quoted. Perfect is what this album is.
Weird. That's definitely one way to describe this album. Yet, at the same time, it encapsulates you inside a realm of its own from start to finish. Earl's lyricism on this project is obviously just as poetic as every other project he's put out. Another thing that's great about this album is how short it is. You can listen to this thing on loop. This album is dark, raw, and emotional.
Personally, this album ranks up there in my all-time favorite albums. For me, I think this project is flawless. Mac's voice is just so raw and beautiful on every track. This album was the best closing to Mac's career anybody could've asked for.
