Ice Nine Kills - The Silver Scream

Heavy riffs, references galore, a bit too on the nose for my taste but there's definitely an audience for this kind of stuff. Sonically they sound great but it's a bit too reliant on the melodic side of things to have an effective enough punch to have me join in on the fun that they are obviously having with this. So despite me not connecting, it's a solid album for what it is.

Wavves - King of the Beach

Weed.

Though this drug trip of an experience is well done, it didn't strike any of my chords until I was well into the track list. Even then it was only a few songs that left a strong enough impression on me. It's not bad, and others can easily have a stronger impression from this than I have. So try it out if curious enough.

Some high quality and very enjoyable tropical feeling ambient with a zest of Balearic beat to give a nice relaxing atmosphere to chillax in the lounge chair as summer completely refuses to go away in the middle of October.

Kylie Minogue - Tension II

No wonder she was on the Today show this morning! She has a brand spanking new album and it's the sequel of her last one!

While not quite as infectious as the original for me, the disco queen still has the genre and vibe down. She definitely still has plenty to offer even at this stage of her career. Also for pushing sixty she can still get the young men wilding! Looking at the wiki it doesn't say she's married or anything so I got a new milf to thirst over but the line is ... read more

I saw Kylie being interviewed on the Today show in passing as I was preparing breakfast so I decided why not check out what she's about. I was expecting some stale corporate dance pop but her recent efforts has decent ratings here so maybe she's surprisingly good. Looking her up on the wiki says that she's a seasoned industry veteran referred to the princess of pop probably second to Madonna. I don't think she still has claim to that crown these days but apparently back in ... read more

Sade - Love Deluxe

Gorgeous.

Though I loved everything this amazing album has to offer Im giving it a 90 cause while I loved it it didn't completely blow me away quite how some of my all time favorites did for me. Still it's very worth it's top spot for 1992 by general consensus and is some of Sade's finest work period. Highly recommend you check this out.

Happy Election Season for America. May God Damn us all.

This is youthful political rebellion in its purest form. Goes hard, super groovy, and the punchy vocalist leaves no bodies alive once their done fucking everything they despise about society and the people that reside within. If America ever does decide fuck it and finally decides to have a sequel to the revolution that started this madness but by THE PEOPLE instead of rich assholes that don't like a little bit of tax. This album is ... read more

I knew that I was probably going to enjoy this from the snippets I have heard but DAMN this is something else! WAY ahead of it's time, still sounds so cool, unique and modern even over thirty years later. It's a vibe, it's a rave, it's a masterpiece that is only going to be more and more appreciated as time goes on. What an album! I adored everything except for "Green Calx". Otherwise it's a genius master class of that late 80s to early 90s ambient vibe that ... read more

It's some ok grunge liked a few tracks but found little of it to be notable. Also I love when album covers sneaks a naked breast enough that you don't immediately notice it.

Angelo Badalamenti - Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Delicate and intentional.

Dark Jazz with the spice of soft atmospheric ambience is still new to me, but damn am I so into it. It is lush but cold and distant. Beautiful but intimidating. Emotive yet relaxing. There's nothing quite like it, and I am so into the vibe of it all. The original soundtrack had its AOTY spot stolen, but with this new one being just as potent and only a few Albums left for me to explore for 1992, fingers crossed, but I think this is Angelo's year to lose. Some pretty Psychedelic Shoegaze. While a lot of it fails to faze me much, I did manage to strike gold with a couple tracks I found notable for later listens. Overall it was a pleasant if uneventful experience.

Nine Inch Nails - Broken

Don't know what it was about the last two tracks but I connected with them a lot more than the rest of this EP.

Tom Waits - Bone Machine

Tom I love ya but sometimes I find your unique voice to be downright grating to hear. Sometimes it works, especially if it fits the vibe of the unique creative instrumentation. Or if there's a bluesy feel where that kind of vocal style is commonly associated with. When it works, it really works. And this album is beautifully crafted regardless of my petty opinions and you should be proud of how it turned out and the acclaim it has received. At first as I was listening through the initial ... read more

"@frogofprog of course, all the songs listed in the review are great including the all time classic in War Pigs. I just think as an album experience as a whole it could be a bit better."

"@ScottShelby As for what's next for Zappa since I have listened to most of his Acclaimed stuff besides a couple of TMOI releases In likely to finish off that bands offerings before down the road see what Zappa has to offer in his more contentious releases."

"@AidenBowe45 He reminds of Paul McCartney at points with how passionately he sings and the instrumental goes crazy. It's a fun album for sure!"
On Muddy Waters - After the Rain
"@AidenBowe45 I honestly am just too familiar with this kind of style of straightforward Blues, sure it's classic but I find it stale and uninteresting especially compared to other styles that bring more to the table of the genre that makes for more engaging listening."
On Herbie Hancock - Fat Albert Rotunda

"@AidenBowe45 I mean it's not the definitive vaporwave experience, but if you're a fan of the genre then there's definitely some solid stuff here."
On girl in red - if i could make it go quiet
"@AidenBowe45 I am likely not the intended audience since I am a grown ass 26 year old listening to these lyrics. I may not be fully aware of what the kiddos are into these days, but when I was an edgy teenager in middle school, shit like this banged for the girlies."
On Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
"@OldTask This album is definitely geared towards the artsy fartsy folks that appreciate just how deep into the rabbit hole this experience takes them. Definitely takes an experienced or a very open ear to truly "get it." Not everyone does, but the ones that do praise this shit up and down like I do."
On Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
"@Moosky This album is fit for a very particular meditative mindset you have to be in for the Inherent strangeness to pack as hard of a punch as it does. Like many albums I love this is like a sonic drug trip that is more to be experienced than enjoyed as regular music. This album has a legendary status because it goes deep into this surreal experimental soundscape unapologetically and not everyone is going to get it, but those who do are immensely rewarded. I recommend you to maybe expand your horizons and listen to ambient/Psychedelic/ experimental releases similar to this so your pallet is more used to what this amazing album has to offer. Cont."
On David Bowie - Station to Station
"@Jakeisthedoctor You mentioned that across the board I have wild takes, are there more recent examples that raises your eyebrows?"
On David Bowie - Station to Station
"@Jakeisthedoctor Man I really should delete and reevaluate these albums I reviewed in my early days when my taste wasn't nearly as refined yet expansive as it is now. Back in 2023 I was throwing my inexperienced taste into classics head first with no idea what I was talking about. It's part of the reason why I am exploring the 60s and 70s again along with bolstering my limited playlists. To great success too with my 60s playlist going from 90 tracks to over 750 and growing as I am now appreciative of the greatness that I am consuming. I promise when I get to these albums again down the road, I will likely have a more reasonable take. For now, just enjoy how unhinged I was in 2023."
On Vapora - Oceanside Mall
"@frogofprog oh yeah, Vapora. I definitely had mixed feelings with this artist. They had some genuinely great vaporwave along with...well ones that missed the mark. Yeah I was a bit more loose with my reviews back in 2023 just experimenting with how I liked to present my reviews. It results in some reviews I am still proud of to some I just go crazy on. It is also an era where I was still forming my tastes on like twenty+ genres at once so don't take my early reviews that seriously."
On Drake - Scorpion
"@Triplo Thanks! I don't often have something to say about an album these days past a standard passing observation, but popular releases from the 2010s are a good way to get be talking at least a little bit."
On Peter Gabriel - Peter Gabriel
"@RSmithFan What I meant was that this was the first album that felt like it was made in the eighties. Don't know why I phrased it that way either."
On Not Marshall - FRIDAY NIGHT A DRESS2IMPRESS MODEL HAS TO SHOW OFF HER NEW AFRO HAIRSTYLE

On Fabrizio De André - Vol. 1°
"@I_love_chickenw 👍 Whatever you say bud. I'll keep on doing what I do regardless of your berating."
On Fabrizio De André - Vol. 1°
"@I_love_chickenw Good for them and the people that praise their writing. That's not the reason I fell in love with music so I don't focus on it. And that is just as fine as those who do the opposite and completely mute the music and gush over the writing. Different strokes, we all appreciate art in our own individual ways."
On Fabrizio De André - Vol. 1°
"@I_love_chickenw Maybe I'll appreciate that part of the experience when I decide to give a shit about the lyrics. Until then, those pink floyd classics offer an amazing sonic experience regardless of whatever they are yapping about."
