As a guy who shares a birthday with Vladimir Putin, Yo- Yo Ma, Thom Yorke, and Lewis Capaldi. I feel for us except maybe the dictator for having our special day be forever overshadowed by the start of a controversial conflict starting a year ago today. Why did my birthday have to become the Jewish 9/11? I was at a freaking theme park with my family for pete's sake. Why does political drama have to ruin everything they touch?
Whatever, cause I share my birthday with this single by Piotta ... read more
Eh, it's a mediocre foreign rap track that I don't understand nor do I care to understand. It's mean to rate it this score but it fits too well. Also this is just an excuse to spill a whole ass write up I had while thinking about my 25th birthday so enjoy this track I guess, but I hope you spend the time to indulge with my rambling below. Enjoy!

Some cool uncanny dreamy shit right here. Perfect for those lonely nights when all you want is your own poisonous girlfriend that will end it all for you.

Other than "Crossover" I didn't really connect with anything this album had for me
Eh...not feeling this one. Pretty low energy for my taste. Like it chill, but it ain't no vibe.
WOW. It was been over a year now Niel! How have you been?
I see you still got plenty of that folk charm and those writing skills have not wanted since I last saw ya. Well this project of yours is a hit brother and I am glad you are doing well! Thanks for the time we spent together, until next time old friend. Hopefully within the year this time around!

Alright last one of the discog up this point. It's a brief 20+ minute EP. Let's see what they have. I have never heard a single second of this before so bare with my first impressions.
See No Evil:
Thank you YouTube comment for saying what I was thinking. "Leave it to Ghost to pick something out of left field, breathe new life into it, and really make it their own"
Apparently this is a cover of Television's work. So be sure to check out the original after listening to ... read more
Now for Ghost's latest full release I listened to it when it first came out and I honestly don't remember much. Strangely soon after I just never touched the band other than random tracks thrown my way by shuffling. So I am basically coming in almost blind. Let's see how this one goes.
Imperium:
Got a bit of marching drums with the soaring guitar. Not the most impressive intro they have done it does the job I guess. (60)

This one was my favorite Ghost album back when I first went through their work so I'm interested if it still leaves a strong impression for me now a couple years later.
Ashes:
The intro has a haunted fairy tale vibe to it. I like it. Nice dramatic build for the album to come at the end. Overall a damn solid welcome to the album. (70)
Rats:
We got a groovy metal instrumental happening and the vocal's melodies and cadence are on point. It's the right amount of cheese and ... read more
Skipping Meliora for another day.
Let's see what the popestar has to offer!
Square Hammer:
Very spooky. I mean VERY spooky it rattles the bones. The right amount of cheese to be goofy and fun and not cringe. Yes, we got a Halloween classic here folks. Awesome guitar solo as well as being super catchy in general! Just good shit all around! (80)
Nocturnal Me:
Yeah I'm not feeling this one as much. There are elements within that are cool but it feels bland as a whole. (50)

If You Have Ghosts:
Oooh some strings to start things off! Nice!
Mm that approachable voice. Now that's something I like to listen to. The easy to digest melodies. The comfortable safety and familiarity of some honestly cool production. Nice guitar solo! Their best one yet! No real memorable melodies to sing along to tho. 🙁 It's an ok start. It's a fresh direct they are taking so I'll bite for what else they have to offer. (60)
