This is pretty much just as bad as I was expecting , I didn’t have any positive expectations for Chris Brown coming in and he proved me right by giving a very underwhelming performance every single song he was on. I was hoping Thug could give some sort of life to these tracks , and to an extent he did but still pretty underwhelming for him generally, definitely not enough to save this project . Not terrible , but certainly below average

I respect what this album was going for , you definitely can’t call it too derivative of their previous material , they were taking it in a new direction this time with the electronic and pop sounds, it sounds like this is supposed to mark a turning point in the CSH discography where they try something new out (I think, this could just be a one off thing and they go back to their comfort zone right after , who knows) Regardless of my admiration for their venture out into a new sound , it ... read more

This album offers some really interesting sounds instrumentally and vocally , I really love the production choices they made and how it sounds from that end but the vocals on this album make it really hard for me to thoroughly enjoy any of it .

I don’t have many problems with this project but it doesn’t do much for me honestly . I respect it for establishing Drake’s new sound and demonstrating how his song formula has evolved over time . The production is gloomier and has a really laid back vibe but aside from Pain 1993 i’m not gonna come back to any of these songs, side notes Toosie Slide is easily one of the better songs and the last 2 songs with the accent are terrible

Incredibly consistent singer songwriter Laura Marling releases what might be her strongest record yet . Her vocals are imo better than ever and while its arguably more easily digestible than any of her other releases , I think that works to it’s benefit, especially considering it’s only 36 minutes, it makes Song for Our Daughter lovely and enjoyable the whole way through while still delivering the same lyrical depth we’ve come to expect from her.
