BANGERS | 13ANGERZ
This album is not TA13OO. This album is not a conceptual masterpiece split into 3 parts. That being said, this album is an absolute BLAST to listen to from front to back. The transitions are so smooth you'd think that some of these tracks were a part of the same track. From start to finish it's a nonstop thrill ride of energy, so much energy that the interludes that contain nothing but snippets of a useless conversation seem justified because it gives the listener time to ... read more
super inconsistent quality wise. Goes from good to bad to great to boring. The end of the album dips so hard
FAV: 911 / Mr. Lonely
LEAST FAVS: Garden Shed, Enjoy Right Now, Today
GRAMMY WINNER BABEY
this is beyond phenomenal. This surpassed all expectations and I am not only pleasantly surprised but also absolutely mind blown by how amazing this was. The LUSH LUSH LUSH instrumentation mixed with the AMAZING vocal contributions from everyone involved. This absolutely deserves NOTHING but praise. Not a single less than stellar moment on this whole record
BEST: IGOR'S THEME, EARFQUAKE, PUPPET, WHAT'S GOOD, ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?
LEAST FAV: NEW MAGIC WAND
Such a good single. Definitely nothing full of meaning but I don't think it needs to be. It's got great bars, a great beat and great energy. It's a banger boys
I do not like this album one bit. This was released back in 2015 when AJR had a record deal with Warner. It's definitely just a pop album that was trying too hard to make every song a potential hit. However, I can't help but think that this would sound dated 2015 in 2015.
It tries so hard to hop onto all of the worst trends of pop music with little to no success. There aren't really any memorable songs on this LP, each song is so soulless. This LP was obviously really backseat driven by Warner ... read more
First of all, let's get the obvious out of the way. This probably appeals to me because lowest common denominator pop music appeals to me. I loved The Click to a point where it's one of my favorite albums. I have such a crazy connection to that album and I was so excited to see what the band would do next.
I think this album is fantastic. The soundscapes and vibe are absolutely great. The instrumentation sounds like something straight out of a Disney film, I know that's always been their vibe ... read more
Home, Like NoPlace Is There is beautiful. It's the best album I've ever heard lyrically and musically. An absolute must for anyone who enjoys crying whilst listening to music. The lyrics are truly beautifully written, dealing with topics like suicide and depression without being so straight up that it kills enjoyability. The subtlety and symbolism in the lyrics are so admirable as someone who tries their best to make message count as much as possible in their music. An essential album for ... read more
Best RockGati. My problems with the previous RockGati projects were the mixing sounding too muddy and the production sounding too cheap. Both of those issues have been fixed. The vocals sound better than ever and the production is absolutely incredible. Even though it's obvious that the drums are just midi, they feel more present and real than they've ever felt before. This EP feels so alive!
Probably the saddest album I've ever listened to. Mark's lyrics give off a feeling of despair, as if he's lost all hope and he's just waiting for someone to give him hope again
honestly a big inspiration to me and my music. This album is heartbreaking and chocked full of emotional lyrics, awesome low-key guitar playing and an all around unconventional mood. This project gives off the biggest vibe of "hopelessness". The lyrics are even more heartbreaking after Mark's untimely death due to suicide. An absolute gem of an album <3
